Agree 100%, lots of potential but CoH and Zim leadership do not appreciate the value of a well landscaped , padicured and manicured city! Same story with those unique beautiful shopping centers in Zim eg Avondale, Kamfisa
Great video. It is cleaner than Glasgow Scotland! Beautiful buildings, especially Eastgate Shopping Centre. Wow amazing the way it’s built for ventilation. 💖💖
Great video as usual. After travelling to Francophone cities Harare is way too dirty. I would like to see some sort of clean up exercise taken by the people in Harare. We cannot blame city fathers for not picking up papers in the streets. I would like to think Zimbabweans are mature enough not to just throw rubbish in the streets. Come Zimbos lets make 2024 the year of cleanliness! It is simple guys if we are the so called most educated on the continent lets behave so.
I say it all the time and the response is as if I said everyone should sell their own mother. The government does not make people litter, their own selfish, arrogant, ignorance does. I agree 100% they are litterbugs and I think they should be spot fined. If they cannot pay the fine they must be made to clean the city picking up litter for a day under supervision. The municipality should do that. I'm sick of people who say the municipality and government do nothing for us, but where they can make a difference as citizens they simply make things worse.
@@milzex2082 all predominantly Arab nations Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, etc are far cleaner and organised than those in sub Saharan Africa. I thought you were speaking of the many Francophone nations in West and Central Africa.

The farmers keep having record harvests including 468,000 tonnes of wheat last year. That was the best harvest EVER. You won't hear about it on the BBC though for some reason. I wonder why?🤔
Happy New Year Mr Zim. Watching this from a cold and dark UK, it's lovely to see those blue skies. Great video and I love the solar street lights, someone had some foresight by installing those.
Hey Mr Zim, fantastic video, I left Harare Zimbabwe in 1989 and it still looks so clean and fresh, still OK Bazaar and Edgars, I used to work in the big mirrored Pegasus House for Union Carbide, not sure if they're still there, also worked for Zimoco Mercedes Benz in the early 80s. Actually the beauty puts the UK to shame, honestly. First job was in the Municipality building, is it still there? Africa is in my blood, I was born there and miss it so much, not just Harare but all the natural wonders and natural beauty surrounding Zimbabwe. If I ever win the lottery I will come back and live there haha.
Im proudly Zimbabwean.. it's the peace of Zimbabwe not wondering who is a foreigner and why Why someone is smelling in the armpits l find hurtful in other Southern Afican nations Well done Zimbabwe for embracing others ❤ GOD bless Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
Great video, Zim cities are in need of basic landscaping pub toilets, seating spaces. Looks clean without people, high time CoH spend time issuing instant receiptable fines to littering public members. Also increasing numbers of bins not a bad idea!
This is definitely a beautiful city on its class of its own, wide and spacious roads as well as parking. Streets are wide, buildings spaciously accommodated and beautiful indeed.
Wide streets not advised in pedestrian cities... or if a city wants to be as pedestrian friendly as it should be. But I understand you judge everything against badly (re)planned post WWII U.S./North-American cities.
Wow ! I am sure this is not the end of it. I don't know how long it will take to cover the entire Harare province area but I hope there is much more to come just from downtown all the way to the suburb of Harare. Thank you Mr. Zim.
@@michaelmaps2004 bra, it's a city. Beautiful means something, you cannot use it in the same sentence as Harare. Have you traveled to Europe, South America, Asia? Those are "beautiful". Harare is just a city...
@@patrickthorp3816 Beautiful according to whose standards? the streets were not congested and the shots are so cool, just in love with your video resolution and quality + stabilization............ proudly Zimbabwean. Nice work @MrZim263
We are watching the devolvement of Harare into just another growth point. A Makoni shopping center (those from chi town will understand). This is what happens when taxpayers leave and rural moves in. No more funds to pay fr maintenance, then every building becomes a brothel, cellphone repair shop, or sadza place...potholes everywhere, open manholes, unfinished roadworks, dead traffic lights, grass overgrowing on pavements and on and on and on. And what's worse is that because the new residents of the city are rural bumpkins they don't know what a nice city looks like. To them what we see in this video is "nice".
There's nothing to be proud of , we are centuries behind in terms of everything. No enough electricity , no water , no trains or metro not even a proper fu**ng bus station at mbare, what have we achieved since we took over our country. We can do better than this
Mr. Zim, I Just Subscribed. I am coming to Harare, Zimbabwe, from the USA on August 27, 2024, and I found your video as I was looking for a TH-camr to show me around on TH-cam. Do you have any tips to help me have a delightful stay? What is your currency? I appreciate your support.
Happy New Year Mr Zim, all the best for 2024!! Thanks for this excursion thru Harare CBD. So many bright, shiny, modern buildings. Just for interest, at 17:21 in your video, you pass the Old Mutual building. I used to work for OM., in admin, joined in 1980 after I left Churchill. I forget the exact date, in the early 80s, the zanu-pf hq was in one street past (Manica Ave?) the one OM was in. There was a bomb blast in the HQ. All the huge window pains in the OM building facing the blast were blown out into the street below. At the time I worked on the 3rd floor, I think. It happened around lunch time. To this day, whenever I hear the sound of a breaking window, I remember that day and time. At the time, OM was busy decentralising from its head office in cape town. One particular senior manager, from CT., was in the ground floor banking hall at the time of blast. A few of the massive glass windows blew out of their frames into the street. The senior manager was so stunned, he sat, shocked, in an office chair for a long time afterwards not moving or saying a word, a look of shock and horror on his face!! Needles to say, the building was closed for the rest of the day, all staff sent home!!
Something else whilst at OM. as I say, I joined in early 1980. At the time, the war for freedom was in the final stages with fighters being called into assembly points, around the country. I never served as I was still at school. Anyway, from the top of the OM Building was the staff canteen that served delicious lunches to staff. From this vantage point we could see the numerous UN and USA transport planes flying in to the New Sarum air force base. We watched helicopters landing and taking off from Morgan High school, which I think was a base of ceasefire operations.
The introduction of spot fines for those who litter. If they cannot pay the fine they must alternatively be made to pick up litter across the city under supervision. I'm sick of beautiful environments being marred by ignorant, selfish behaviour.
