The BEST interior detailing product I've ever used! Pol Star from Koch Chemie

  • I've tried them all. Interior cleaners, all purpose cleaners, cleaners/conditioners, rinseless wash products, leather cleaners, interior "detail" sprays....the list goes on. By far, Pol Star from Koch Chemie is the best product I've found yet to help me clean and save time. It has a neutral pH of 7 -- making it ultra safe -- but somehow, it cleans like a beast. And, according to the Germans at Koch Chemie, it leaves behind a layer of protection.
    You can buy Pol Star on Amazon:

    I've been using this on a roof liner of a car with a sunroof which kept on leaking. Absolutely amazing results, I could wipe the dirt like it was on a ceramic tile, not delicate upholstery. As you've briefly mentioned, the key is to have distilled water, because hard water leaves stains and they're quite hard to get. I use it 1/10 in a hand foamer, and been using it on everything car interior: door panels, the carpets, upholstery, anything. I keep it by the door and clean my shoes with it, it's so good. It could seem expensive, as it's somewhere around 15e, and there are products on the market which cost 3-5e, but if you factor in its dilution, and how much you actually make, it totally pulls in the long run. What I like the most is the fact that this solution is safe, it doesn't attach adhesive, paint, leather, nothing.

      Dude I didn't even realize how good it was. One of my guys is kind of picky with products...he likes what he likes not necessarily what I tell him to like lol... and I hadn't used pol star all that much but i made a big Koch chemie order this summer and had some around.. anyway, he was new so I knew I couldn't throw APC in his hands and trust him. From day one he was raving about the stuff...I love the foaming but I also love that you can drench a leather seat... let it dry... and come back with no damage. It blew my mind because it actually has a lot of punch as a cleaner...

    Few questions for this video as a follow-up. 1. How does dwell work in direct sunlight? 2. Is this a car you detail frequently? If so what conditioners or coatings have you applied previously? 3. As a business owner why would I choose this product over 3D's APC in 5-gallon choice? 4. What does the trim dye/restore do to the colored stitching in the upholstery?

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      1) in sunlight ALWAYS use common sense. I wouldn't let anything dwell on hot vinyl or plastic -- let alone paint -- if it's in direct sunlight. 2) nope first time I've detailed it 🙂 3) if you are a business owner and don't have employees who can mess stuff up when u are not looking...and you like what you use... and it's getting you results and you like the price...stick with it🙂 4) cera trim won't mess up stitching...I would tell you you are over thinking it lol but I do the same thing. Cera trim is the last resort cover up or restore an old farm truck kinda product. For $20 it might be worth trying pol star and if you don't like it call me out lol. You still want a good APC around but imagine not being afraid of overspray from your apc bottle hitting a piece of plastic or another leather seat that you don't see until an hour later.... chances are the apc won't leave permanent damage but it only takes one time...

      For sure man...so many good products out there. The thing with koch is I haven't used a product of theirs that has disappointed. H9 compound is amazing. M3 polish is amazing. Green star as apc is great. And pol star. Now...with that said...I'm told price point in Europe is cheaper so I think we are paying a little more right now...hopefully prices come down. When you factor in dilution ratio of Pol Star (can be used 10:1 for most situations), it comes out pretty competitive with P&S Xpress Interior Cleaner in terms of price. One thing to be aware of that I haven't seen anyone talk about in these types of auto detail videos, is that Koch Chemie and CarPro 5 liter bottles use a different lid size than what's standard in the US. So if you've invested in a lot of Tolco gallon proportioners, they won't work for CarPro or Koch Chemie products (unless you pour them into standard US gallon containers).

    I usually use Optimum Power Clean at 10:1 for all interior leather, vinyl, and plastics. I've never had any issue with streaking, even if slightly dried on a hot panel in the sun. Is this really that worthwhile to try?

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love power clean man don't get me wrong. It can be super powerful if you go too strong though. 10:1 is great tho and power clean foams too. But I haven't bought power clean in a long time...I will be buying pol star again....but I have technicians now and they clean without me watching so its a trust thing . To me its just peace of mind that any little dots of spray that I dont see land on a leather seat or dash .... won't cause damage. Lol I can go to town. But use what works man if u don't have issues no need to spend more money 🤣

      Hawk Pro Detailing I appreciate the response. I love using multi-dimensional (purpose) products vs having one tool for each specific task, especially dilute-able ones. I might purchase a bottle and replace OPC for a detail or two and see how it goes. If I like it, I debate about buying more. If not, it'll get relegated to cabinet duty to collect dust. Thanks for sharing this review, I'm interested to learn more about Kick Chemie.

      Single best APC I've ever tried in my life. I literally use this for EVERYTHING.
      Cleans literally everything on or in a car. I've also used it to clean my bikes, my deck, my house carpets, the walls, tiles, the oven, trainers, my driveway, the upvc window frames, my shutters - you name it!
      The equivalent of $22 for 5 litres and its dilutable right down to 1:250.
      Although I tend to use it at 5% for 99% of things and 10% for ridiculously stubborn dirt and grease.
      Right now, Bilt Hamber make the best APC, the best Iron Fallot remover, the best snow foam, the best water spot remover and the best alloy wheel cleaner by a long, long, long way!
