I rode this trail dozens of times when I lived in Henderson ten years ago. I really enjoyed the experience of nostalgia your video gave me. Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed it! We tried to do this trail again when we were in Vegas last October, but we just didn't make it happen. Would have loved to do it in our own Ebikes.

Too bad we didn't have a drone that would of automatically "followed us" will be rode this winding trail. Maybe that's something you guys can do when you finally hit the rode in your Class A! Thanks for watching,.......Vegas Baby is next week!

Been thinking of doing this with my wife one of these weekends. Watching your video is super helpful for how to prepare. It wouldn’t have occurred to me to get an extra battery. Thank you!

This bike trail in the video is a one of a kind. We haven't come across any this unusual. I would say EVERYONE should rent an extra battery on this 34 mile loop. The Mickelson Trail in South Dakota is still our #1 trail we have taken though in 2.75 years of travel.

Saw the Mrs.' Summerfest T-Shirt. Knew you were from Wisconsin. Been there out of Chicago. As for biking, I've ridden from Boulder to Nederland, Colorado on a pedal mountain bike the entire 17+ miles uphill 2,950 ft and I don't wear spandex. I guess I have a lot of enthusiasim! Thanks for the enlightening video. I want to go there and see the sites.

Great video! This is one of my favorite things to do at the Lake Mead NRA. I came across your channel by accident. I love the Wisconsin connection as I hail from Waukesha. This definitely isn't the Glacial Drumlin trail.

Hey Mark! I lived in the Town of Vernon (Waukesha) for 26 years before moving to Milwaukee. We LOVED this bike ride, and since I am 67, has pretty much made up my mind to switch from our Rans Long Wheelbase Recumbents to Ebikes. When you are riding in unknown areas all the time like we do, you need to have a backup plan to get back to the RV. It's called "Lithium"!

Since we spent an entire month at the Las Vegas Oasis RV Resort this time around, we explored the Vegas area like few people have the time to do. That is the" gift" of being retired, FULL TIME, RV. Of course the "penalty prize" is that WE ARE REALLY OLD!! Loved all the scenery, but the dry desert would be tough to take in summer. Time to turn on the diesel!

It's a great bike Trail, open space all around, with views, but it is not flat!! constant up and down, if your lucky, half of your ride will be with tailwind, and the other half with Headwind, but that's up to the wind god. Take food and plenty of water, and sunscreen. I rode it in Oct, mid 80s, counterclockwise from the lake mead campground, on a non ebike, it's 35 miles around, that will make you work. But well worth it.

Craig,.....having rode this BEAUTIFUL, unique and awesome bike trail with TWO batteries and ONE Trek Ebike, I tip my hat to any human that can do it with a regular bike. You my friend are one fit individual!

Rider's weight, how fast rider chooses to go, wind conditions, and total weight of one's cargo, affects how long the battery will last. If anyone plans to do a long distance tour either get a higher amp battery (17.5+amps) or bring a second one for just in case.

    • @OurJourneyInMyles

You are absolutely correct! The Elux Malibu GT eBikes we ended up buying a year or so after this video was filmed have 21Ah batteries. We never come close to using these up, and in fact will ride at least twice on them between charges. We typical travel 20 miles-ish per trip.

@@OurJourneyInMyles Good for you guys. Where i reside here in Las Vegas; not too many bike riders around but since I moved here I have seen more lately :) I wish to participate in e-bike touring in the near future.

Wow I am planning to do that trail. I drive around the country riding in places I’ve never ridden and that trail certainly looks intriguing.
I was wondering, did you ride the trail clockwise or counterclockwise?

We loved that trail. we rode it clockwise. If your ever in Chattanooga TN, check out that set of trails. Oh my God they were awesome! Check out: th-cam.com/video/XyaYZO31VT0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DW87ECsL2vyNbzC7

How long did it take you to complete the trial? When I did it it took me 3 hours just on a pedal bike. I am going to attempt it on my bike with 2 batteries

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You are amazing! I am not exaggerating when I say that I wouldn't have lasted 6 miles one way on this trail knowing I would have to back track those same 6 miles! We took a site seeing approach and took about 5 hours. The ebikes is the only way to go at my age (67) in the video and almost 69 now!!

@@OurJourneyInMyles I agree using the battery will help a lot. The XP lectric bike I have is a lot heavier than my speed bike is. I have another trail that I will practice using my batteries to check out the range

This was filmed in mid March 2019. Road trip is 34 miles. Both Brian & I needed TWO batteries. The girls needed one. (They are fit!) We stopped for a picnic we packed. I remember about 4 -1/2 hours total.
