- In this video we are doing some range test flights on high and standard video bitrate with the imx335 OpenIPC camera.
The high bitrate will have impact on the range.
We could use antennas with higher gain to improve the range.

OpenIPC FPV is the cheapest digital FPV system in the world!

The system supports MAVLINK1 or MAVLINK2 bidirectional telemetry which makes it a complete solution for a quadcopter or fixed wing/VTOL. It also has WFB-ng link preinstalled and this means it has serious long range capabilities.

I watched many of your videos and you did a nice job. But everytime I wonder about the jello. I would be to picky to accept this. Is it because of the frame/building/mounting or the video system?
It’s from my bad PIDs and building. I am focused on other more important things that’s why I keep forget to fix it. The video system is fine, has zero jello if the quadcopter is well tuned. Cheers mate!😊🍻
how far did you get?
As we already said the range of this fpv system is as far as your battery will take you. My battery lasts for about 5km and return, so 10km total flight.
On this video I did total 9km.
No one has ever maxed out the range of the wfb-ng. You just need the right antennas and a “quiet” environment.

I used simple dipole antennas on the quadcopter and on the GS on simple dipole and one small patch antenna.
