  • How many identities can you juggle at once? A native New Yorker, Linda Sarsour is a Muslim peace activist who refuses to be confined to foolish dichotomies. She calls herself “every Islamaphobe’s worst nightmare,” and, yes, she’s also a feminist. Linda is the executive director of the Arab American Association of New York. There is nothing wrong with that. Islam says a wife is supposed to provide for his wife. How is that sexist. England has been a Christian country till modern times and they wouldn't allow women to vote or work. They would force there religion on different countries and cultures in the British empire and slaves. A man is physically stronger than a man. That's why women athletes and body builders take male steroids. It's a fact. And that's what islam says, but that doesn't mean a women is incapable. All these islamic countries that are sexist. People don't realise there is a difference between culture and religion and these countries are blinded by culture. Honor killing happen all over the world. They are absolutely terrible but they happen for culture and family status, not religion.

      Islam claims that men are a degree above women and are their guardians who can discipline them for being disobedient as prescribed by allah to protect them. An ideology that only allows multiple wives but not multiple husbands is not teaching equality. An ideology which claims that men are the guardians of women (who can discipline them when they are disobedient) as prescribed by allah to protect them is not teaching equality.

    Wearing a Hijab and calling oneself progressive is equivalent to a white guy wearing a black-face and calling for anti-racism. I would have supported Hijab if this modesty was imposed on both men and women. The fact that it is women who cover their head (and sometimes the whole face) and men can go about by with just a beard is sexism at its best. Its so ironic that someone who is asking for "equality for men and women" is also symbolically representing those women are the one who needs to be oppressed and show modesty. You can't do a NAZI salute and call for the end of anti-semitism, your intentions might be in the right place but you symbolically show an opposite story.

    “The wife’s money is her money and the husband’s money is both their money” is a lie spread by Nouman Ali Khan. As long as the husband is providing for her rights, she cannot take a single penny without his permission. She can only take it if he’s not providing for her and she must only take what is sufficient for her needs to be met. The ruling is taken from this Hadith:
    Hind bint ‘Utba said, Oh Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Abu Sufyan is a miser and he does not give me what is sufficient for me and my children. Can I take of his property without his knowledge?” The prophet (ﷺ) said, “Take what is sufficient for you and your children, and the amount should be just and reasonable.
    And if he’s not providing for her, there’s even a difference of opinion amongst scholars about whether she needs to go to a qadhi first or she can just take the money.
    Muslim feminists have spread false “rights” of the wife like the husband’s money is the wife’s money, yet reject the husband’s rights which are clearly proven from the Quran and Sunnah such as the husband’s right to be obeyed.

    I think it's already been covered in a few comments, but hopefully I can come across as polite in saying that coving up to not attract men don't work, what it does is to give some men an excuse, even a religion, behind which they can hide their rape and mistreatment as justified. As being the woman's or girls fault... This is mayor issue. The thing is, that when ancient 'new islams' travelled, they came across Turkish women wearing head scarves, and they decided, hey why don't we force all our women to do that.. and so it became the new religious law. But, back in the day, many European women used to wear head scarves, but as they pleased, some days yes, to keep their hair nice, others to keep warm, maybe to keep the sun off, or even some days just to avoid styling their hair.. but it was optional, it was not enforced, and was definately not so they would be undesirable to untrustworthy men. Today, women are more indoors, use umbrellas, in cars, etc, plus we have hairdryers now which I think was a big game changer in hair habits. But, women also at enow less likely to wear them as they are now seen as either old fashioned or Muslim, which is ashame. The issue, is very much to do with any religion placing rules on any genders clothes. I think if all humans just behave kind and respectful, and consider those around them, then we'll all be ok. It's such a pity their are still so many places on earth I will never feel safe visiting because of their lesser views of behaviour towards women.

I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance. That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy," and the other a topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot." Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called " Iraq of Ribs."
    Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret," with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods. Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop , "Koranal Knowledge," its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."
    All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so their mosque issue would not be a problem for others."

      if you cant even take your husband's last name over the fact hes male that makes you extremely sexist against men also no major religion see females like property thats mostly Culture based on political ideologies.

    Islam was complete the moment the Quran was, and the Hadith were complete when the Prophet SAW passed. Islam and Muslims don’t need feminism, and ‘Islam’ the religion does not shun the oppression of women, if that occurs it’s despite Islam and not because of it.
    And respectfully, the Hijab is worn because it’s a command from Allah, that’s all

      @The8Linea8 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +Allison Ho really.... You should learn a bit more about countries like Saudis Arabia, quatar, Malaysia irak and so many other Muslim countries who are so wonderfully treating women. I'm sure that you must think women being forced to wear hijab, condemned to death even after being raped because they were adulterous are amazing rights.

I'm talking abt actually reading through the Quran. If you have, then hey, to each its own opinion. Why spread hate and make yourself be among those with hatred when you in fact want peace? ***** hmm not sure why you are sharing this with me. I think you should open your mind and find some other sources and read more about the passages you think say what you wrote above. Most are taken out of context. Infidel is actually a Christian word used by the crusaders. As a Muslim I find your trolling very sad and actually quite dangerous. Muslim women are afraid to leave their houses because of the hate that people like you put out into the world. From a fellow Muslim, I pray for all humanity to come back to love and peaceful coexistence.

    • @fedafooda

I pray for all to see how we are all connected and the same I'm so many more ways than we are different. God bless.

    • @fedafooda
      @fedafooda 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Albert Bavré I honestly don't know what to say to that. Your words are so inaccurate and full of racist stereotypes. Have some heart for your fellow humans. Educate yourself on what you obviously don't know. And go talk and meet some Muslims. You will find that you have so much more in common than you think. Peace to you and your family.

      +Albert Bavré +Albert Bavré I don't know if you're German but I am Viennese and I can tell you that I love how we welcome so many refugees. Just because some Islamic people are bad doesn't mean all of them are.
      OUR women? Really, do they belong to you? Are they any different than Muslim women? Also, think about all the Christians, Atheists or people of other religions that do horrible and violent things. Would you think that all of them are bad people just because a few of them do bad things? There's no such thing as Islamic behaviour because even if people share the same culture and home countries they are still all different. Some are good, some are bad. Get over your racist opinion and actually try talking to some islamic people.

    • @iman8907
      @iman8907 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Albert Bavré first of all, you misspelled 'wir schaffen das'. Second of all, there is no complete evidence about the race or number of the guys that did the cruel attack on women Cologne. They might be Arab, but 1000-2000?? Anyways... Merkel saved innocent people's lives. She didn't accept millions of refugees like Turkey did, but still a lot. They are innocent families. Do you want a mother with her children dying?
      And guess who has been killing Muslims on a daily basis for decades? Party MILLIONS in less than a year?? Bingo! Christians! Hold on here though... Have you killed Muslims? Yes? No? Probably no. Me neither, as a Viennese Muslim from a lovely AND somewhat conservative family, I haven't. Point of this: don't apply the act of some assholes, that are present in all communities, on a whole religion.
