    Definitely wish this was a thing when I first got into coaching! Sometimes we get so lost in the fancy sounding/looking stuff that we overlook the basics for our new coaches in the fraternity. Great idea Coach!

    I’m a new coach and want to learn all about terminology. Can you give me an example of what a play call is? Do you do personnel, formation, motion, concept, tag? Thanks I haven’t watched the video yet I’m sure you cover this.

    Formationally , my rules are X is the WR that is on the LOS on the left side and Y is the WR on the LOS on the right. It helps play with the H and Z with formations

    Usually guys keep the Y on is simply because he can be a bigger body player such as an Tight End. Which is good for stick or crossing routes, a hybrid type player who can play sniffer as well if you don't have a Fullback type guy.

    So my question when u say your best reciever is in the slot or most physical reciever is the slot is his catching important in those positions or is it just based of his speed or physicality

      His catching is important. I want the guy that makes defenses scared in the slot.

    Could you point me to some more rudimentary instructions. You know... some of the basics, vocabulary etc. I would like to follow some of your more nuanced concepts. But I'm still getting lost in the "industry terms".

      @@CoachMcKie Well... I know the rules of the game, the positions, the basic route tree, the A,B,C gaps etc and DL alignments 5,4,3,2,1,0,1,2,3,4,5.
      When I try to watch some of your more nuanced content on different schemes and the philosophy behind execution of that scheme... I'll stumble not knowing what is meant by a term or reference to something like "the 3-3 stack,, the 5-5, the 5-2, the 4i defenses, 3-4 odd front or the split veer, or the old school wishbone, wing T" etc. It wouldn't have to be hyper detailed. But just enough to know what you mean when you reference these things.
      This video was easier to understand than some others because you did alot of explaining of terms as you used them.
      I think it might be good for your channel as you grow and start to attract the less knowledgeable enthusiasts like myself to have a basics video which you can put in the description or link to regularly to offer a place to start. You're probably going to encounter more and more people like me as you show up in more and more recommendations.

    I’ve never understood why people say 3 by 1. That alone doesn’t tell you which side. Why not say 13 or 31. Seems much more condensed and simple
