Your guides are the best. Please do more! The way you present mechanics is very comprehensive, and the videos themselves are just enioyable to watch. I still occasionally pull up the E8S and E12S guide just for the audio/visuals.
Something to note during the clone quadruple crossing, the magic vuln from nail chipper goes away between both hits of it, so you can safely get uptime.
Thank you for this. Amazing production quality and the fact you're showing the strats that are actually used instead of adding more different strats to confuse people in Party Finder is a blessing.
Thank you so much for the guide! Definitely going to link in PF now. One additional small optimization: Once you start the last 2 hits of Raining Cats MTTT, both 3-person parties can collapse to boss ring at rear and the tanks can take the Out/In positions as well as the respective tethers with invuln up. This means that the 6 non-tanks take 0 damage for the last 2 hits of the mechanic.
tyty while it's better on paper for pf i decided it's better to let people stand in place much as possible the incoming damage isn't severe and no damage is lost or gained by doing either way it's more likely for 8 people to forget to move on the 3rd wave vs letting people standing still for majority of the mech
Finally, a GAMEPLAY focused guide! I swear, why people believe a PowerPoint presentation is the absolute standard will always be beyond me; I just can’t learn that way!
i swear to christ that i summoned you??? we were talking about strats and stuff in my static the other day and i was like, “maaan… i miss joonbob’s guides! they were a production!” and like magic, here you are!! 👏👏
Leaping Double/Quad Crossing is a fun mechanic to scoff at as AST. So far the best spot I've seen where I can pop Macrocosmos, catch the baits and the follow up aoe to get everyone back to full before the following raidwide. Also, DEAR GOD that raidwide does insane damage.
Even if you don't feel the need to make more guides til Ult or next tier, I cleared this fight my first live savage clear since P1 and P2 I'm happy and having fun again thank you.
All the people suggesting moving between hit 2 and 3 of raining cats have not been in enough parties of the tanks not knowing what in and out is, goblins not being able to count to 4, or casters greeding out in narnia. One minute attempt at opti is maiming the pf clear rate. Just please stand still and secure the books for the love of god.
HOLY another banger guide yet again 👍 lidally the best guides out there when it comes to both production quality and actually helping to teach the fight
the only issue with quadruple crossing for DPS bait is if you have a NIN in the party and then it's only the very first mech. their TCJ comes up at first hit in the opener. If you're doing DPS bait first, expect the NIN to sit on the hit box. if the rest follow what's shown as max melee or deep in the box should be ok. the other solution is to do support bait first. either works but be mindful in a PF if you have a NIN there, you'll need to work with them to be clear. but if you're all going max melee out/further in should be ok. Great video as always.
my group does ranged first. PF will never adopt that though because naichipper forces DPS or support first and they won't like having two different bait spots.
Clean and nice tutorial, with solid tracks. The common Joon w. My static cleared this week one, so it's great to see how our strats/positioning fared against other ideas.
Watching a tutorial for me is like a tsunami - It's confusing even if you understand some of it. But practicing on the other hand is better for me, as I learn better by practicing - even if more mistakes are made, which means learn from them more
@@Professor_Utonium_ You think a mfer clearin' week 1 in PF? With a full time work schedule? When they gotta touch grass? In what world is the average person not only a week 1 raider, but *expected* to be raiding and clearing week 1? You wilin' my man, the average player isn't even expected to be a savage raider lmao, there is no "you *should* be clearing week 1"

Same I hope to get a clear this week with pf. Hopefully can find people that understand the nail chipper it's the same position just watch the debuff!!!
even if I've already cleared it, I just like watching your guides for animations and music xD started watching ever since p8s. To this day I jam to that lol
The great part about this is that they slowed dps down enough to be able to see raining cats. Otherwise, they would have most definitely skipped raining cats altogether.
Maybe you can make a mini guide for an alternative strat for "Smash or Pass" where you the party can stay on a single tile for the entire phase. You take Smash on diagonally opposing tiles and get Passed diagonally onto another row. Hard to explain without a photo but it's by far the best way to do this mechanic, guarantees full uptime as well.
same tile is fine as an option but shouldn't be absolute people fail the snapshot timing and turn around late all the time and/or melee get scared of that and start on the opposite corner further from boss (lose damage) best to do combo of both
d(^-^d) Good Explanations, Great Diagrams, the Knockup vs Smash animation off the Boss clearly showcased - awesome Job mhm mhm. Now I am wondering if doing this without a Healer has crossed your mind >.>; !!
felicia if she were even more of a baddie Awesome guide, as usual. Your visual-heavy style really complements this raid tier (which is low on mech complexity, but high on personal responsibility and mech speed). I think the only thing I would have liked to have seen is an overhead diagram of Nailchipper, even though it's literally just the same as the regular Quad Crossing with the roles occasionally reversed. A little pointer for the square floor markers that the clone jumps to would have been wonderful, both for the tank kiting the boss and for everyone to orient themselves for protean baits. For whatever reason, that mech alone is the bane of PF. That aside, I'm really looking forward to the rest of your videos this tier!
Also on MTTT, party should stack together on the hitbox for Hits 3 & 4; M1 goes inside hitbox, M2 goes max-melee. This saves healing on the rest of the party since tanks are taking both tethers and closest/farthest hits. Great vid as always. o7
Hello! I always watch your videos! i'm using it for reference, so there was no problem with clearing it! If it's not rude, can I translate this video for my friend who is doing FF14 in Korea? I'll be waiting for your reply! :3 ) =3 !!!
Joonbob no, you were ment to save melees from having to true north with conal baits! not force them them out of safe flank positionals! (I just think cardinal conals makes more sense I'm sorry)
Odd you didn't say for everyone to just clump right behind the boss for the 3rd/4th AoE hits of Raining Cats and have both tanks stand inside the hitbox while they're invulning the hits... makes the healing a joke.
that is objectively better but it's hard enough for people to go to their spots to begin with planting + less moving parts better for PF dmg isn't that severe to begin with
On raining cats, if the tanks are invulning already just have 1 stand in and the other stand out while the party stands on the boss outline. Lets the tanks take the split damage as well.
Imma go with Smash 👍
