I drove the 50th Anniversary SS and it's awesome. Whoever says the 455 HP isn't enough, hasn't driven one. It's fast and sounds amazing.
Miss the Scat Pack, but the new Camaros are no joke, especially that 1LE. Glad she's treating you well!

Either they've owned a 800whp monster, or they've never owned shit worth uploading.
Majority of the time it's someone that's been lucky to even had 200 flywheel hp.

Or maybe he just hangs around abunch of people who make over 400hp...Just ddepends on the crowd you hang around. My Co-worker is older than me by a lot but I try to learn from him as much as possible when time permits... 500hp is a joke to that man... He's been running 1000hp+ 67 Camaros for awhile now.
I personally myself no longer see it a lot anymore... Personally you can pick 500hp C6 z06 for mid 30s to low 40s... Which is essentially A brand new 1SS...
Want a loaded 2SS? That runs the cost of a lightly used C6 ZR1 and let's be honest maintenance cost will be similar if not more expensive on the Camaro.
I can provide examples like this all day for each Brand... I Traded in my C6 for a mustang... The roads just didn't like the car where I live, but all in all I just say it's perspective... I hang around a lot of modded cars so from where I'm at.... 455hp is acceptable not a lot.

Jay Kells I love his reactions to fast cars because that's how I react when I drive fast cars, his face is always a good measure of the speed of a car, that's what I love about him😂, it's hard to know how fast a 1000 whp Supra really is when the guy reviewing it keeps a stone face the whole time.
No major complaints here, went from a 5th gen SS to the 17 SS 1LE so I'm used to the lack of visibility. I also daily drive mine and fricken love it.

I feel like an alter ego of your former self since I nearly daily a 2016 Plum Crazy Charger Hellcat.😄 A few of us from KY convoyed to Nashville Cars&Coffee yesterday, and among us was a 1LE with headers. Great car! The 1LE & Viper with us carried the "pace" for the 2.5 hour trip. Seeing and hearing a 1LE in person truly impressed me.👍
I like this new 1LE's there are awesome and very mean looking!!! I think it's a better package than the Scat pack I'm ready to get one this year. Congrats on your new car.
I have one of these in yellow and I absolutely love it. It isn't perfect by any means but man, it is a bargain for the price. I had a 2012 328i before and for me, this is significantly better. Based on price / performance ratio, this is the Ultimate Driving Machine!

Visibility seemed scary to me at first too but after adjusting your mirrors correctly, I actually feel more comfortable changing lanes in heavy traffic in this than I did in a Kia Rio. Once you get used to it there is absolutely no problem whatsoever. The only time I truly feel a little nervous is when I'm backing out of parking spots and trying to look over my shoulder but that C pillar is huge. Take it slow in these instances (as you should, anyway) and it's a nonissue.
Very nice car. I'd buy one even though I just picked up my 2017-GT350. I think both cars are great. Sure I'm more of a mustang fan but when a sports car is good, it's good & there's no reason to ever bash on one. Nice choice. Enjoy your car brotha.
Rear visibility is worse in a 370Z, trust me. It's a matter of perspective. the blind spot warning system helps a lot, you'll learn to trust it. I appreciated going from that to my new SS Camaro. I've heard the 1LE front wheel offset has some poke and owners are complaining the tires are kicking up rocks on the paint. I'd consider some low profile rock guards (hardly noticeable) from ZL1 addons or RPI. I'd look into a PVC side oil air separator too for preventative maintenance because it's direct injected. Nice car.

If anybody complains about blind spots go watch a TH-cam video on how to properly set your mirrors, I had a 5th gen Camaro and never had blind spot issues.

I don't get the little tiny SS emblem on the back of the car, it just looks like it is out of place and someone just stuck it on there.

Cupillac if i owned a 16 or 17 SS I'd take all the badging off and go old school and put the SS emblem in the front grill and in the middle of the rear that's it. i honestly think GM should've done that in the first place but i do think the flow tie idea is pretty cool.
I would do the same. I think the bow ties only look appropriate on trucks.

The 1LE SS looks and performs like a true Hall of Fame athlete and that is plenty of power. I wouldn't mind at all feeling like I was in the cockpit of a fighter jet as long as it can perform, and that does. I am so happy that there are so many performance coupes available today. From used Trans-Ams, 350Z's, Stangs of all years, Challengers, M3's, R8 and Camaros...Wow. Enjoy people, fu#kin enjoy.
I love your honesty about the visibility. I've driven in them and if you're not use to it, it's scary as hell trying to change lanes in even normal traffic. Going from an accord to a mustang I thought was bad, but then a mustang to a camaro was even worse.
It's amazing how people like you exaggerate so much. When designing the 6th gen they asked a ton of 5th gen owners if the considered the visibility to be a problem and the majority answered no. Because it's not. If it was that much of a problem then you've hear about Camaro's crashing all the time, but all you hear about is Mustangs.

That's why in it's third year of sales, the 6th gen mustang is still outselling (domestically also mind you) this better than ever 6th gen camaro and camaro fanboys can't understand why. It's stupid funny. 😂
Chevys listening to the wrong group of people when it comes to visibility. And when the 2018 mustang comes out it will once again outsell the camaro, even the Camaros refresh is released, by twice as much, even as it did it's first year and a half.
I want to root for the camaro but the visibility and price is something I'm afraid to invest in. It's nice for those who can afford it and want to track it on the weekends and drive their mustangs daily.
Give Riley props for being honest about it. Comparatively speaking, it's bad. Will you get use to it, of course you will. Is it easier to see out of than its competitor, he'll no, its worse, not even by a little.
It's lots of fun on the track with no other cars to have to maneuver around or in your own lane only watching for obstacles in front of you.
Nice ride! How is the 1SS 1LE as a daily driver? Is the front splitter too low to the ground? Is it difficult to get in and out of a driveway?

i saw someone complaining about the tiny little ss badges on the new camaros. better this way: we now have basically all GO and hardly any SHOW. look at a '78 z28, which is basically the same car, but for that time. it had HUGE "z28" decals and fake aero and a fake, non-functional fugazzi hood scoop. and it packed all of 180 hp. i like things better now.

RP Productions I had a couple questions. I'm looking at a camaro after my lease on my truck is up. I was wondering if there is a significant difference between the ss1le and the 2ss like HP. is it just features etc.? I might be weird, but I like my heated seats, heated steering wheel, color illumination etc (I'm a big little add on kinda guy sorry lol). And I must say your 1 LE looks absolutely sick and I mean if I can get my add ons on the 1 LE (in the same color as yours I love it man lol) the. ill go that route. If not should I spend he extra money for the extra HP(if there is any) and extra little features??
Great review! My only complaint with my 1LE is the Recaro seats are a little hard to get out of if someone is parked beside you. Other than that it is a fantastic car.

Disclaimer: 2017 Mustang owner.... That being said. I still think this Generation of mustangs looks better but, damn son... This car is sharp looking. First camaro that I think looks as good as the current stang. Love the colors !
I can understand your point. if i hadnt bought a premium package i would probably find the interior lacking as well. as it is the interior with a performance and premium package offers enough tech goodies to keep me smiling while waiting for the green light !

Congrats!!! You got one even though you think the mustang looks better. I'm in a similar situation. I own a 2012 mustang gt and a 2014 evo x gsr. Stang is paid off and I still owe on the evo so I'll most likely trade that one in. I want a 2017 Camaro ss 1le so bad!!!! But I just can't fall in love with the way they look. It's absolutely the only thing that is preventing me from getting one. I would seriously get hypnotized if it will make me like it. I'm going to be getting in tracking so the 1LE would be perfect. The evo is just too slow and my stang doesn't handle well.

Pharoah Monk very nice! What kind of work do you do? I'm a behavorial health RN. I'm always working. Lol. I feel the same way. Blessed to have two lil bad whips. Man! I'm sure that 1ss is fast!! I test drive an auto last year. Feels so much faster than my stang. They didn't have any manuals. Lol! How was the traction on that race? Traction always sketchy on the stang from a dig.
My evo x is my daily. I beat on it bad. My wife dailys the 5.0 now. I honestly have a lot of fun in the evo but it lacks power!! I just tracked the evo this last Sunday. Bone stock and I got second fastest time that day. I'm not skilled. It's the awd. I am most likely going to be tracking the evo at willow this month and the next. Either that or renting a Camaro ss from enterprise to see how I like it on the track. I'm sure it is amazing.
I'm going to be getting serious with tracking. Just got a tire connect that sells tires at sponsorship prices.

you compared the seats to the GT350. I'm 6'4 and 230lbs, the GT350 Recaros are just too snug for me. would you say the Camaro Recaros are very similar in the thigh bolsters or is it a little bigger?
RP, did you order your tail lamps and bowties straight from the dealer or did you do that yourself? Im in the process of picking up my own and they said they cant order the smoked tail lamps but know a shop that would wrap them for me. I know once you wrap a light it just dims it so id rather get the actual lamps themselves.

Currently have a 15 Mustang GT PP modified which is great but I'm bored with it now and the Shelby markups are still insane. I need to test drive a 1le if I can ever find one around here at a dealer

Beautiful car. Drive a black M6 2016 SS as a daily driver. I paid the $1,700 I think it was for the magnetic ride control. IMO if you daily this car for anybody looking to buy one don't skip on it. In tour mode the ride quality is awesome. Then you can still hit sport or track, or use the settings, to tighten it up.
Mike Williams disagree. I have without magnetic ride control and its totally fine. you're probably just used to it by now

How is the shifting in the 6th Gen? in the 5th gen, it was very stiff and unforgiving. So is the shifting any easier ?
Gotta say, I love both the new Challenger and the new Camaro. They both have different specialties; the Challenger is better for a daily driver and going faster in a straight line (depending on the engine), and while it's a big car that can corner, the Camaro does it easier and better. You'd have to invest some serious money into a Challenger to get it close to the Camaro in terms of handling. But the Challenger is also more old school and has a nicer interior (IMO) and is the last great retro muscle car. Also much better on long trips. So maybe I'll get both one day.

Eric Erickson maybe you've never owned one. Don't go based off everything u hear. I had an RT and now I have a 2017 5.0 and tho the mustang is waaaaay better at handling, the challenger isn't terrible at it. But if you've never owned one you probably wouldn't know.
I've owned all three, and the Dodge is the most well built of them all. I have no idea why people say Dodge has build quality issues. Maybe 20 years ago they did...
Call me crazy. But it's probably because a huge majority of FCA products are ranked worst in terms of reliability.
I wanted a mustang because of visibility but my God the camaro ss sounds way better then the 5.0 . Like it’s not even close & camaros hold their value over time very well.
