You should do emergency medicine in Cape Town! The overnight shifts are insaneeee!! 16h fly by and you've treated 30 stabbings, gunshot wounds, cardiac arrests, road traffic accidents. Best time of medical school in my experience!!

Hi. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate how you put the explanations for medical terms and such on screen in the video. I'm studying medical lab science, and I find it really interesting to see what a medical student's life is like. Thanks for making awesome and inspirational videos. I hope you're having a great day :)

I work as a scribe in the ED and I can tell you my overnight shifts are very similar! I live in a small town, nothing like New York, yet there is always a steady stream of patients around 11pm-3am. After 4am things start slowing down and I start getting sleepy😴 Then I get home at 7am and sleep until 3pm. Great video!

Omg I just finished shadowing a PA night shift in the Emergancy department ortho team, it was so fun! The ortho team supply room looks like a handy mans work shop. Tractions are fun just because we tell the patient "we are going to do this quick procedure to help your pain" (which is actually true) and they are like "YESS PLEASE!!!" then they see the tools (drills, 12in nails, a massive nail cutter, rods) and they are like "tha f*%

Jamie! I got accepted to med school (here in Poland where I live), I was watching your videos during studying to my exams and I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are doing great job. I've got a question: What should I pick - harder school, where my parents have a small apartment near it, or a bit less tough school in the city I've never been to, but I heard about great atmosphere there?

antonio ferreira specialization depends on the exam you take after med school, every med student takes the same exam. I''m more into the harder one because it is still manageable and people can be mean in every school. Good luck!

raspberry cat i think harder because in medicine that maybe wouldnt be that difficult as people say, maybe is harder but you have a better quality education and you will have a house near to stay, is a plus.

I wish I had the balls to tell her what I want to do, I'm afraid of disappointing her or seeming confused with my life because I hadn't said anything about it(my parents are clueless I want to persue medicine). Someone give me advice on what to do. Sorry for the long comment. I love your videos Jamie, sending love from Africa xx
