My uncle and Grandmother are buried in the same cemetery just as you walk in. It is a small but beautiful place and the head stones for Edward Woodward and we think his wife (who is not passed yet) are unusual. Need to visit again soon. I love the South West especially Cornwall.
Been to Padstow.. My parents moved down tregatillian part of Cornwall just outside st columb and live on the same site as my brother who moved down there way before last time i went down was 2013 as 2014 my ex husband (prat) stopped me going now my dad cant drive anymore as he is ill and my mom wont drive 5hrs journey but we keep in contact every day and send cards and presents for Christmas and birthdays... R. I. P Edward i absolutely loved the equaliser 😢💔
LOVED the Equalizer!! Edward was brilliant as the Ghost of Christmas Present in the George C. Scott "Scrooge". oh and a bit of trivia The theme song for the 1980s TV series The Equalizer is called "Busy Equalizing" and was composed and performed by Stewart Copeland of the Police (drummer)
Thank you for doing this video Paul. I absolutely loved watching the Equalizer. I enjoyed watching every single episode! I hope that you enjoyed your overnight stay in Cornwall.
Thank you, Paul. I loved the equalizer too. I just realised that my notification bell wasn't on 😱 so I've missed loads 🫣 got some catching up to do. Thanks again Paul ❤
Many thanks for your beautiful tribute to Edward Woodward. In his bio, you missed one of his greatest movies... one that actually changed the path of my life. Not being dramatic here, but I ended up doing a thesis on this character's life and this led me to spending two years in Australia following up on his story. The movie is 'Breaker Morant' about the Boer War in 1901. Truly a tour de force, made somewhere in the late 1970's, by the, then, Australian Film Corporation. Great Movie! Thanks again for the memories and your lovely presentation of Woodward's life.
Me too. I watched it with my folks when it first aired. My mum loved the show, especially Lonely, played by Russel Hunter, who was actually from Glasgow (like us). Cheers
@ Same here! Watched it with my folks too when first aired here in Australia. Mum loved the show. And I agree, Russel Hunter was superb as Lonely. A very talented character actor! So good, when I saw him in other shows, it took a while to work out he played Lonely. Proof of his wonderful acting talent! The intro with the swinging lightbulb & theme music still plays in my head sometimes! Cheers!
@@didee5336 Spot on. I re-watch Callan episodes every now and then for the acting and early 70s atmosphere. I think it was made on a pretty tight budget, so anytime someone blew a line or stepped on someone else's dialogue, they just kept rolling. Anthony Valentine was great as Toby Meres too. I understand he and Ed Woodward were pals forever. BTW: If you like UK espionage dramas, check out "The Sandbaggers." Well worth a watch. Cheers
@ Yes! Anthony Valentine was great too. I will check out “The Sandbaggers”. There’s a fair chance I watched it when first aired but would be great to watch again. Thanks for suggesting it. 😃
Paul! A big thank you for this. Edward was a fantastic actor/singer. For anyone who reads this the I heartily recommend Breaker Morant for his acting skills, and, on TH-cam, Champagne Charlie for his singing skills! Lastly, I heard this on TV. Why does Edward Woodward have four letter D’s in his name??? Because it would be silly calling him Ewar Woowar! Well, it was hilarious when I heard it. Cheers mate, Bob
His son is so very much like him and also an actor. I remember Edward Woodward singing “ The Way you look tonight”, and yes,he had a lovely voice. When we were courting, unbeknown to me my husband to be had bought the record, and after we had been out one night and I was all dressed up in a new dress, my. Fiancé played this record for me, so it has very romantic memories for me! He was a good actor, and greatly missed. Sounds like he had a rotten time with his health and heart issues bless him. Thanks for this visit Paul…much appreciated. 😊

We in Australia know him, in part for 'Breaker Morant', where he plays the lead role brilliantly, it's an Australian film and launched posthumously interest in the Harry Morant story, Woodward is outstanding. Looks great too.
For me at my age 67, Edward Woodward is always remembered for being Callan. If you can find episodes worth a watch. The opening sequence just brilliant. I know people rave about The Wicker Man etc but Callan was ground breaking.
As mum used to say Edward Woodwoodward!!Paul and your gracious family wishing you all a very happy Christmas(enjoy your time off,you deserve it)and lets hope 2025 is kind and peaceful to us all regards Ian Dalby
Thank you for this video! Edward Woodward was always my favourite actor- The Wicker Man , Hot Fuzz and of course Breaker Morant were all excellent in different ways, and his version of Soldiers of the Queen, performed with a certain irony in BM, has since become the standard and is so moving. I also fell in love with Michelle Dotrice as a youngster after seeing her in King Lear in Bristol on a school English Lit outing. So thanks to them both for all the hours of enjoyment they have given us over the years.
My wife is Thai and we used to watch the Equaliser together in our early days. One day we were in the car outside our local shops in Shepperton and my wife said, look it's the Equaliser. She was right, he was with Michelle. He lived in Shepperton before he finally moved to Devon. We used to see them a lot after that. If I had any problems with anyone I was going to ask him to go and sort them out.
Edward Woodward would….. I first came across him in Callan. Loved him n the Wicker Man but he also in lots of other films such as Breaker Morant.
