Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!

My communication style is so different between you and I vs other audiences. It's like I'm a historically different poet when I talk with you. Your voice is so flowery and yet so insightful. We're talking right-out-of-the-gate thoroughbred language skills that are taught to be imagery centralized. My voice is more direct, but I usually have nothing to lose. Now, I have so much to lose if I lose you. Great to learn a new poet!
The dance of seasons is best felt with the presence of intuition. The shadow of music barely matches up to the weight of a deck of notes, could I have found my picnic gear in time for summer, I'd know the bear for winter that could bare winter with me. I can only hope to laugh that I could fool both my parents into thinking I deserved a spot on the couch with a beautiful lady.
