    These are things Zambian s must be hearing and taking into account to understand as ways forward from national economic recovery and national success. This is a time to shun cheap politics which an be seen in the comments section but hold to reason, give support and shut up where we do not understand this is called integrity and patriotism... Said easily development is made of such.

    Chipo you are articulating Zambia's economic out look very well. You are very knowledgeable in your field and the government picked the right calibre to occupy the office you are in currently. My advice is let these achievements be known by the local people through education. To reach this far,it means the citizens are going through tough time economically as it's a time of sacrifice. Nothing good comes without sacrificing. Yes GDP is growing but it's on the ground where people are struggling. Work on that. Actualise economic recovery

    You people all we need is implementing them, you can articulate them nicely and sound as though we're heading somewhere and yet not, in Bemba we say, "uwakwenda ubushiku bamutasha nga bwacha" meaning we can not appreciate anything that is on paper no matter how good it may sound but that which we're able to see and touch anyway.

    You can have nice policies however the most important is stability of exchange rate and cost of borrowing for local citizens. Over Jan 2023 to Jan 2024, currency depreciation to USD was approx. 40% & inflation averages 15% per annum. Once these are stable like Botswana, then it's a success. Right now, Zambia is still in the transition phase.

These are key determining factors of the next election results if not clearly handled.

    Now this is really high level and that's the reason I would suggest that such is brocken down to a far simpler layman's language and explained to the land common man at the grass roots. This is what grassroot leaders such as Ward Counsellors should be tasked to explain the the common ward membres. The Ward officials aught to have a quarterly action plan along with a reporting template for which they will be held accountable. As it is now, there is a blinder between the decision makers and the people being decided for. We really need a 2 way communication system. The electorate need feedback on the progress that is being made on a regular basis. That way they will not be manipulated by a few unscrupulous and greedy individuals. Accountability should be transparent and easily visible. No matter how well a job is done, is equal to zero work done as long as it is not reported back to the requeter in this case, the electorate who are in the dim.

    Guys come on let's not placate, the policies are good on paper but we ain't seeing fruition of the policies, so all I can see is all the guys in government are good speakers but they can't implement, it is sad we are riddled by such individuals, the rigidities haven't been unlocked the pricing of goods for investment are stagnant,the beauracracy is still there, I wish there was a 3rd party which can interject than her just rumbling.

      @remyarts847 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Let me come in, high prices isn't something which the government has over looked.. the Government except the critic on that, but firstly the policies have to be put in place some have to pass through parliament which takes time. The Job done on the mining sector isn't something to belittle, that will change the economy and looking at the inflation rate, the GDP Zambia it shows that the government is working, so sad that climate change altered our rainfall patten which has affected on agriculture, we the confidence the investors get to have and bring their money that will hugely impact the cost of living by seeing the prices going down. So yes prices aren't okay now but work is being done making a good base so that the full structure built will be strong

      @@remyarts847 Regardless of the the mining sector starting to run there is a mess at KCM sources say that due to HH's poor timing to re open the mines there is close to 6 Billion USD in mining expenses at ko nkola deep and vendata is broke. Every government has had good policies but the implementation is little to be desired. Sometimes I blame us Zambians for the people we elect. Let's wait and see the 3rd year is elapsing , we don't have a viable health sector, agricultural sector sector and mining sector, so let's wait and see, they promised they would do better but I can't see it.

      @@remyarts847 the economy is something that is an enigma as long as government intervention isn't so strong rigidities in prices of commodities will still there in the free market economy. That's why I thought the government would invest in manufacturing and local investment, but it's like we can't do it us Zambians we need foreign aid. In my opinion the government is a huge let down. They have failed to handle KCM, they talk about giving the mining investors leeway from paying tax to enable them to grow investment all these policies are bad in the long run.

The economy will be well I trust the policies put and inspite things moving slow due to challenges but all will be well
