I was there last November and I am impressed with this new railway, which is giving so much improvement for many Londoners. I have been in london may times since 1976 (as a tourist) so I have experience with public transport there and the Elisabeth line (the first name for this line was Cross Rail) is such a huge improvement for those who are depending on it. Especially at Abbey Wood and Woolwich in East London, where many commuters did find out that their daily journeys are much shorter now. And the result is that this line is already one of the busiest in the UK and the busiest in Greater London.

I visited London in February of 2023. I found the underground safe and easy to use. Unlike my Paris experience where I almost got pick-pocketed.

A bombardier train with the Mitrac IGBT sound.
However, I would have thought that for 9 cars there would be an extra car with 2 pantographs: one for classic use which allows the power to be distributed to 3 pantographs instead of 2, and an emergency one folded 99% of the time. The redundancy of the systems is very practical.

I wonder why the Elizabeth Line isn't just a part of the London Overground network.

cause it crosses through the city center instead of terminating at one of the major stations
overground trains terminate at euston or liverpool street, or don't run into central london at all
the old name wouldve made it more obvious but i guess everything has to be related to royalty

So many empty seats yet trains every 3 or 4 minutes?
