Just out of curiosity, how much was the train fare for this journey if it's a single fair (one way).
The Elizabeth Line in general looks very well designed & built.
And the stations in Central London look really nice & stylish.
I would love to use the Elizabeth Line the next time i visit London for the day travelling from the West Midlands of England where i currently live.

You can get a train from where you are to reading then hop on the Elizabeth line from there. If you get lucky you might not have to change trains at Paddington and could do the whole route from reading to shenfield and back on the same train (reading to abbey wood if you are unlucky). An end to end ride on this line is definitely on my bucket list and will probably be done next summer.

a single fare from heathrow (any station) to abbey wood on the elizabeth line is £12.80 with oyster or contactless

The Elizabeth line IS a good way of getting to Central London, especially from Heathrow. Unfortunately, TFL doesn’t have plans for a direct train from Reading to Shenfield, just Heathrow to Shenfield.

they dont go to terminal 5, they branch off at terminal 2 to go to either terminal 4 or 5
