    I love the “ready to race” and then the distinctive start of the one cylinder. I’ve had other bikes and rode many different styles but love the Duke 390 for everything that it offers at it’s price point.

    You're doing really well as a new rider I just want to give you one tip and I hope you don't get upset with me. At 10:30 in the video you pull in the clutch to take that turn. The clutch should only be used to shift or stop not to slow down, next time just use both brakes before to the turn so that you have a good entry speed (don't touch the clutch) get back on the gas 😉

    Protip for bad weather, the old Aerostich Roadcrafter is hard to beat. Being a "onesy" it keeps heat from the lower body in, plus wind proof/waterproof, and crashes really well. Pretty impervious to berry vines thorns too when riding trails.

    • @c.a.marsupial.1282
      @c.a.marsupial.1282 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bujubra2594 it depends on how confident you are. The bike I rode before the 390 was a Yamaha virago 250 and the power difference was huge. But once I got used to it which took about 6 weeks it was great. If you're a confident rider and want a lot of quick exhilaration and power and have very good roads get the 390. But it will be scary for a few months so you need to be careful. But the 200 would be a big jump from a 125 because KTM are building great bikes. Please tell me what you are ridding now. I'd be able to advise better.

    • @thecrowfliescrooked
      @thecrowfliescrooked 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@hollyibbotson5290 Hello Holly. Yes they're that much fun. I've had Moto Guzzi, Aprilia, Honda and Triumph. All close to or over 1000cc. Right away as mentioned below it is a very light bike, 400lbs wet. KTM have done some magical tuning to get the torque and power from the single like they have. I tested Honda and Kawasaki's 300 and they felt so uninspiring.
      As for comfort I'm 5'5" -140lbs and the Duke feels like it was built for me. I've done multiple 3hr rides on it and not once did I numb up.
      Operationally the Duke, so far, runs perfectly. I haven't experienced any mechanicals or abnormal conditions you may have read about. One thing I did get was a bit of condensation on the inside edge of the LCD but that was due to me talking it quickly from warm low allititude to cold higher altitude.
      Additionally where I live insurance is a crime, thank you ICBC, British Columbia Canada. So because it's under 400cc insurance isn't as painful as my other bikes.
      That's all I got. I did a few videos on my Duke but as of now she's parked for the winter.
      Hope this helped.

      @@thecrowfliescrooked hi Trevor thank you so much for taking the time to reply, is there anything about the bike that you would change? Hi Alexis, thanks for your great review and great enthusiasm!!
    With what bike did you start learning? Would you recommend this bike as a starter bike for someone who has zero experience riding on the street?
    I'm thinking of getting this bike for my wife as her first street bike; I'm guessing she should be fine with fitment (172cm) and has a couple of years of experience trail riding on a Kawasaki KLX140G.
    Thanks,
    Alessandro

    Even though it's a small displacement bike i wouldn't advice beginners this bike coz the power band is un expectable. Ninja 400 has much more linear power delivery.

    • @Grainsauce
      @Grainsauce 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do you mean it's totally linear, it's nothing nothing nothing, hit 8k or so and then power, that's nonlinear.

      The 390 Duke is a darn machine even for a single cylinder. KTM HAS put all they can in a single cylinder and that's really maniac you can pop a wheelie in first gear it outruns 2 cylinder under 500cc
      Duke 390 it's a mad machine
      BTW : NINJA ISN'T THAT powerful it's power rests in its topend
