This was hilarious. But I think the player forgot to show that he sent Heroic Challenger-SwordShield to the grave otherwise this duel would have been a draw. Heroics Retribution Sword deals damage to both you and your opponent.
Im not sure, but usually turn player takes the damage first, and then the opponent, so technically it would have been a lose

@@poatotcheeps Heroic Retribution Sword only deals damage to the opponent that is dealt in battle -- If no damage is dealt, none is returned.
Heroic Challenger-Swordshield does not prevent battle damage from happening, it only prevents the player from losing LP due to battle damage.
I play heroic challengers myself, he's absolutely correct

Basically, aside from obviously knowing/ensuring that your opponent has no card(s) that will interrupt/mess up Retribution Sword, it is also obviously better to pick or get a battle/crash target with the highest possible ATK (exactly like in this video, for example 🤣)
Heroic Retribution Sword:
Effect: If your opponent plays Utopia decks and sees this card, they stop wanting to play Utopia decks.

Too situational, straight up Utopia plays are often better since they're capable of putting out negates
Although being able to steal an opponent's monster is pretty cool, it's not really worth it compared to the stuff you can do with Dragonar
Maybe if you could summon Dark Infinity off of Dragonar it'd be fine, but Dragonar only summons Numbers from 1 to 100, so XX wouldn't wouldn't work there (even 'though XX is technically 20, I don't think that would fly by the rulings)
These kind of trap card is the main reason why you should attack opponent's monster with your lower attack monster first and not being a big-headed when you summon some overpowered card/combo
Due to utopia double number 99 can't attack directly so it would be a wasted attack. But yes they had game even without it.
Depend. Some card required you to take dmg for it activation like tragoedia. So if you can finish in 1 hit then you better be.

There was a heroic challenger swordshield in hand. The edit skipped over the activation of the effect which discards the card in hand, prevents heroic monsters from being destroyed and player taking damage.
But... if they bottom player doesn't take damage then the top player shouldn't either?

Magic cylinder is underrated like that card alone counters pretty much every otk deck in existence
bunch of monster now have immune effect so magic cylinder looks so viable nowaday

Utopia's effect isn't a quick effect, so he probably couldn't chain to the trap.

because the attack negate is upon declaration of the attack, resolving Double or Nothing advances past Declaration and into Battle Step

Everytime I play against someone who
uses one of thoes "Utopia" decks, they
summon all these monsters that prevent
me from doing absolutely ANYTHING.
I'm honestly surprised I get to summon a
monster or lay down a trap card,
as if it wasn't bad enough that I always
lose the match the following turn.
These
decks are the true definition of, "Even
though it's your turn, it's still their's".
It's even worse that you suffer a hidden
penalty for quitting a ranked duel, even
though the game itself knows you don't
have a chance. The worst is when they
know they can end the duel, but keep
summoning stuff anyway taking up
an additional 100+ seconds.

I'm not gonna lie, i'm one of those dudes that could end the duel right then and there, but I go the extra mile and summon a bunch of extra monters anyway. Because overkill is the best kind of kill! -Until you get hit with a Nibiru for the extra summons.-

You omitted the part where he drops Heroic Challenger Swordshield for the trap card to work
that wording is confusing because you would think taking no battle damage with Swordshield would make Retribution sword also deal no damage.

As a Utopia main, the fact that this dude Xyzed Using Dwarf and Coat instead of Onomatopoeia and Dwarf (so he could use coat to bring back onomatopoeia and dwarf to SS itself for a +2) bothered me so much.

You know, one thing why I love master duel is the fact that the player can't interact with each other so there'll be no toxicity.
But the one time I wish I can see someone's reaction is when those Utopia users got hit by their own medicine.
Magic Cylinder = Emotional Damage
I had this Utopia player make pretty much the same board but ranked up into a TKOC and when the turn changed he activated its effect and made all monsters divine type in what was the most ultimate power flex that's ever been performed on me. Dude had 3 negations and TKOC what was I supposed to do? Ngl was one of those moments where your jaw drops in disbelief. Shoulda ran hand traps :(
The thrill for the big boy number of damage usually dooms those foolish enough to follow that path.
This is why you always have to assume the worst before commiting to a OTK I guess.

youre only allowed to use Utopia's negate before the opponent has the opportunity to use fast effects like Trap Cards
