  • Welcome to our latest video on firearms training! What traps do you need to avoid in firearms training?
1:05 Mistake #1: Gear Over Skills - First up, a common pitfall: Prioritizing gear over skill development. The Gear Trap! Many shooters get caught up in the latest guns and gadgets, overlooking the importance of honing their skills.
2:12 Mistake #2: Techniques Over Principles - Next, let's talk about focusing too much on techniques rather than understanding underlying principles. Understanding the Why! Grasping the 'why' behind a technique is crucial for truly mastering your firearm.
3:03 Mistake #3: Lack of Training Structure - Moving on to our third key mistake: The absence of a structured training regimen. The Importance of a Plan! Without a well-defined training plan, it's easy to miss crucial aspects of firearms proficiency.
3:52 Mistake #4: Multitasking in Training - Now, let's dive into the fourth mistake: Trying to train too many things simultaneously. Focus Your Training! Spreading your focus too thin can lead to mastering none. It's crucial to concentrate on one skill at a time
4:56 Mistake #5: Quantity Over Consistency - Last but not least, mistake number five: Valuing quantity of training over consistency. Consistency is Key! Consistent, regular practice is far more beneficial than sporadic, high-volume training sessions.
To summarize, focus on skill development, understand the principles, have a structured plan, train one thing at a time, and prioritize consistent practice. Remember, effective firearms training is about smart choices and focused efforts.

Dude is absolutely phenomenal! Great tips always. Muscle memory vs neuroplasticity is like saying silencer instead of suppressor, clip instead of magazine. We know what is meant LOL.

Thanks I really needed to hear that this morning and your advice is highly appreciated and we're backing down off of the GQ gear and increasing the narrow-minded focus thanks always 👍.

i've been going to the range and practicing on just one thing at a time as you said.
helps focus on that one thing that i keep getting wrong and every so often i'll combine it all in a friendly shooting match and i actually do see steady improvement!!

I am curious as to applying the training advice. I know people who dryfire 2 hrs a day ( USPSA addicts !) . I’m only able to dry fire 3-4 x a week for 20-45 minutes. I try to live fire at least once a week ( USPSA practice Or Static line if I miss it). Does this neural pathway advice apply to dry fire? For example , 20 minutes a day versus 2 hrs. Or every day for the same time vs 2-3x a week?

Yes, absolutely! Now, you need to take into consideration that 2 hours a day, 3-4 times a week is better than 20-45 min a day , 3-4 times a week. But need to be careful of burnout. In general, more is better but again, the training must be with a high level of focus. It is quite challenging to keep an intense focus for 2 hours. Short sessions and regular breaks will help in that case. ☝🏻

Always appreciate the intel, but I can do without all of the special effects. If you have a solid offering, you don’t need to go out of your way with all the pizzazz to entertain me. It’s like a sixteen year decided to dress up your video. Recall number 1 mistake? Apply it to your video productions. BTW, I never made it to the end as I value my time.

I made it through by fast forwarding through the glitz. I agree the excessive special effects are distracting. Core content is good.

I am a big fan of the instruction on this channel, but I must agree with this comment. Too many distractions from the excellent teaching.

@@TacticalPerformanceCenter Nothing wrong with that, but keep in mind just like jewelry or make up, less is more.
