    The rocker arm oil pressure switch (sensor) is the part with the GREEN plastic ring on it in this video. It also known as the valve timing oil pressure switch for the VVT (variable valve timing) system.

    this is the same for an acura tl i broke my sensor is that why my car wont rev passed 5600 rpm?

      Hi, what year Acura TL do you have? If it has the same 3.5L V6 engine, the oil pressure switch should be in the same location. It's possible that a faulty oil pressure switch would cause the car to go into limp mode and limit the RPMs.

    Paul do the Acura MDX have a vtc actuator?

      Hi, I haven't had a problem with that just yet myself. Here's a video about it on a Honda that should be helpful - th-cam.com/video/F_tLYzlpldM/w-d-xo.html
      Good luck!

    I have a Honda Accord 2003 v6 reading code p2647 could this be my problem?

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Renaldo, yes, I'm reading that code indicates that this part is faulty.
      Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2647 represents “‘A’ Rocker Arm Actuator System Stuck On.” The code is often found on Honda and Acura vehicles equipped with Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control (VTEC).

    Is it in the right wheel well near the oil filter?

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jay, yes, you can see the serpentine accessory belt at the beginning of the video. This is close to the oil filter on the right (passenger side) of the engine.
      I have a long list of Acura MDX maintenance guides on this page - www.paulstravelpictures.com/Articles/Acura-MDX-Common-Problems-Repair-Maintenance-Guides.htm

    Ese es el vtec

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Reyna, yes, you are correct. In the service manual the switch with the green plastic ring on it is labeled as the "rocker arm oil pressure switch" which is also known as the "VTEC switch" (Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control). Thank you for pointing that out. :)
      I'm reading that DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) P2646, P2647, P2648, and P2649 usually indicate a faulty VTEC switch. The most common cause of a problem with the VTEC switch is using the wrong type of oil.
