- Sometimes you just need a good excuse to put a new set of wheels on a truck. This 2006 Dodge 3500 Mega Cab needed some new tires, so why not just go-ahead and put some 22 alcoa wheels on it too!

What a terrific polish job on those wheels. I totally respect that you love the look. These seem too big to me, especially with the rear track. I imagine braking performance has degraded? The Nitto 420 is a terrific SUV/light truck tire. Not sure of the impact on your load capacity, especially if you're a bit low on psi. Kudos to you.
If you put some anti seize on the adapter lip that meets the rim it'll go a long way to prevent them being stuck together when servicing. Looks great though, I really wanna do this on mu truck but I also really like my 18" Methods lol

Wow. Rims sure does make Big different in look of truck. I have 2016 dodge ram 1500 crewcab 4x2 w/hemi. Im been thinking getting new chrome rims and take factor rims off. Aint nothing buy plastic chrome cover on new dodge these days lol. Thanks for video brain.
My 18 has polished alcoas from the factory. Not all have the steel eith chrome covers

might need to order some new rear fenders? wheels look great. I thought you were going for super singles, but those are fine, and probably much cheaper
Truck looks bad ass with the semi wheel but one thing you need to color match the bumpers black and the wheels would stick out even more. I normally don’t like videos but i did this one.

Not what I would want on my truck, but to each there own and hope your enjoy them. BTW does the extra weight of the bigger wheels have any adverse issues for your suspension components?
suspension seems totally fine, they are not that too much heavier then the stock steel wheels. Fuel milage is a tad bit worse though.

Let me guess, you are a fan of Yugos, Pacers, Studebackers with stock rims, perfectly boring hubcaps and the manufacturers emblem on it so that you don't affect your warranty or hurt the manufactuers feelings? You read the sides of serial boxes and only eat it as the instructions say with no sugar added. You drive exactly 55 miles an hour on the highway no matter how long the trip is? YAWN! Give the man credit. These wheels look freakin sick and you know it.

Hey where did you get thos center caps? What kind are they?
I have a 2006 2500 mega cab 2wd long bed that I’m thinking of converting to a true 3500 dually. Was the bed on your truck original and if not, what year did you use? I can’t find any videos on how to swap the axle and bed or if it’s even possible. Anything is possible and at this point way cheaper than buying a new or used dually truck.

Man! I literally have the same truck and based on this video I picked up the same setup, adapters and all, same tire size… do you have a wobble at all? If so how did you fix the issue? It’s pretty bad on my truck no lie
I like the design but I think I would want something a bit smaller 19 or 20's with more sidewall
Bingo! This configuration adds too much weight, more drag, harder to accelerate, harder to stop (safety sacrificed), harder on all components: steering/braking/poertrain/etc. all for the sake of looks.
How do you keep them from losing that shine ?
Just keep them clean with soap and water. Hand polishing them from time to time.

Hi I just watched your video I also have Alcoa 22‘s shave down I live in New Jersey and no place bounces these wheels they say the cone is 10 inch and nobody has it I took it to a TA station still in vibration I don’t feel that they’re doing it properly they were riding smooth when they were balanced in Ohio but that place is too far and I don’t think she is in business anymore any suggestions thank you

Not going to lie, I'm curious how a real semi truck builder would build a street diesel? Because these wheels look killer on this rig.
Why not 24s, they would fill the wheel wells a lot more. Just curious.
Didn't go with 24's because the tire sidewall would have to be smaller and would loose ride quality.

What did it cost you to do the change over $ $ $
Tires are about 200 a piece, used wheels were 300 total, polishing cost 300, and the machine work was 600, adapters usually run around 800 to 900 for a set.

Should have Powder Coated. Last way longer than spray paint. You must really be against powder coating.

22.5 wheels machined down to a 22 is definitely not a good idea and not safe. My friend owns a large high end wheel and tire shop and they will not touch cut down 22.5 wheels after what happened. The day before sema a customer came in for new tires on their dually and when mounting a new tire on a wheel the lip exploded when the tire was aired up. The employee mounting the wheels ended up with around 500 stitches in his face and scalp.
