She still blows my mind despite having listened to all of her albums dozens of times through. This video is great; love being able to see what everyone is doing throughout the whole video and getting to watch Annie work with the pedals
I know, huh? She's one of the greatest guitarist I've ever seen. Her fingers just fly without effort and she makes it look so easy. You should check out her performing this song in her 4AD Session. It's incredible. :D
Temple of Dendur...Wish I had been there. It itself is literally an add-on to the north side of the Museum, with a "glass house" enclosure, that when lit has an allure from the outside that is more impressive than seen here. Annie adds magic of her own. As to the music, she has said that the riffs in this song are among the more difficult for her to split her brain to sing along to, yet she seems to perform it so effortlessly.
She uses a Gibson SG Special Faded Electric Guitar & a Harmony Silhouette & her pedal board consists of: An Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb, an Early Sitori Sonics Tapeworm Prototype, a DigiTech Whammy, a BossTU-2, a Line 6 DL4, an Eventide Pitchfactor, ZVEX Fuzz Factory (Vexter Series) And a Fulltone Fulldrive.
@bucketsYAY totally wrong dude. she uses an eventide space and pitch factor, death by audio overdrive, boss pitch factor for the cruel solo thingy, z few mastotron. she changed it up.
@zepdrummer444 @MicahBuzan I believe she does have a new band. I saw her perform in Central Park last summer and it doesn't look like she kept any of them. Seems to have traded real trumpets for synth instruments, replaced the drummer, added a second synth, taken all the guitar duties for herself.
Wow, I thought that guitar at 1:40 was some weird sample on the record. I couldn't even picture her playing it live. I respect this lady so much.
This song belongs in a category of its own. There's just nothing like it.

I thought I would never see this in my life. Tourists and newyorkers having a great time TOGETHER! The magic of Annie. Epic.
no matter how many times i listen to her music and watch her live performances, i always get so inspired and amused and amazed by how amazing she is!!

Not to mention her foot tap dancing her effects board AND she sings while doing all this hand/foot coordination!
Making the guitar sing like that, while wearing a beautiful dress. She's amazing.
I just love how she plays that last guitar bit as if the guitar is controlling her. Everything she does is so effortless, its amazing.
damn her riffs are sick. and she changes the capo to different frets during the song. sick.
yes, i was listening while working and literally had to stop to see what the hell she was doing.
As a fan of both, I wholly agree. Mrs. Clark is pure beauty.
What a fuckign crazy guitarist. How can anyone be so attractive and talented. This is madness.
I love the guitar line in the chorus. It reminds me of Steve Howe on south side of the sky. Annie is one of my favorite guitarists.
Every time I hear this song, I always remember the impressive refrain melody accompanying the title song of 1967's Bond movie "You Only Live Twice"

I love when she says, "It's rough."
love her...she'll be in dallas in october...can 't wait to see her!!!
Wow 😳😳😳. She always blows me away 😮❤❤
Goddammit, I love her.
I am so helplessly and irreversibly in love with Annie Clark.
I'm just... sooo... in love...
Holy crap that 1:40 guitar part made me feel so utterly insignificant as a guitarist :O
great talent ,more to come i hope

does anyone know the tuning? it doesn't seem like standard. she's so incredibly talented.
Class act!
This looks so fun to play. I can't wait for tabs.
@weirdfishesarpeggi1 its not standard but she's spoken about tuning down to f# on year of the tiger. she uses this guitar on it too. theres a start.
This woman is insanely talented. You better believe I'm headed to Best Buy today to pick up this album.
You just stepped into the Met for minute to check in on that Picasso on the 2cd floor and wow there is St.Vincent what a night....
shes so coooool
Just amazing!
Greatness!
@sidustratis Was hoping for an encore, or at least her coming out to talk for a bit though.
pure and simple example of absolute sexiness, that voice and guitar playing ability...damn
She is so talented!!
Barefoot in a super classy dress like that - Only Annie could pull it off so well :) Damn she's gorgeous!
I cant get enough of that freakin guitar riff :)
I honestly thought the guitar riff was a sample. I thought this was an electronica group. Wow. She is wonderful.
She ate that guitar for breakfast...good lord this woman is talented
@BroPortal Cool to find Prog heads commenting on her videos. Her music is very Proggy and experimental. That's exactly what I love about her.
@bucketsYAY totally wrong dude. she uses an eventide space and pitch factor, death by audio overdrive, boss pitch factor for the cruel solo thingy, z few mastotron. she changed it up.
i preorded strange mercy on vinyl...best choice i ever made.
@BluddyBoy123 Different guitars for different songs? she puts some wild effects on them geetars

shes 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times hotter than lana del rey
More from this show? :D
@BroPortal YES! I always thought the same thing.
does she have a new band?
@BluddyBoy123 harmony Bobcat or Silhouette... reissue and a hasgtrom super swede???
@BluddyBoy123its a 1967 harmony bobkat
Dat leg.
I love the fact that this beautiful piece of ethereal and sexy art will never go mainstream.
+Maria Carlota Faria hippter detected
Yeah yeah whatever you say... And it's hipster*
St. Vincent is mainstream. Anyway, I love her and her music. I don't care if she's mainstream or just my private fantasy.
@MicahBuzan can someone answer this. I really wanna know.

is that a Hagstrom ?
Her best dress!
wow!
ETHEREAL
What pedal makes the tone at 1:40

how would it be Annie and David Longstreth together?
Nice...she has a Music Man amp! Great amps.

@holden190 and the same dress lol but i haven't heard of her being married.
genius
we're not worthy.
what about annie and me together ? :[
Serious shred.
@montibass I thought my passion for Yes made me the only one hearing that.
@sidustratis really? kinda looks like Fernendez
That ending sounding very pink floyd esque.
I know exactly what you mean. It's weird, but I think it's something to do with the juxtaposition.
I didn't know Bjork was in her band.
Is Annie married? Saw her on Letterman last night and looks like she was wearing a wedding ring :(
@Groggle9 She went to Berklee. Only the most talented get to attend there. And she dropped out. Huuzzah!
I thought the solo was just a synth first time I heard it.
the flute section sounds very sufjanian
Looks like the dash board of the Millenium Falcon...
@amardeep33 true ture =^/
She rips that guitar solo 🎸
looks like someone get's all nice and dressed for live performances
heyyy, i own that dress...........
the fact that she's barefoot while performing only amplifies her already well established sex appeal.
Dat Hagstrom
