If you want a dating expert, ask someone who dates a lot. If you want a marriage expert, ask someone who’s been married to one person their entire adult life.
Yea if you want to serial date but they are looking to date for marriage and long term relationship purposes. She actually judged her 2 year old to a grown man’s wants and needs when a child doesn’t have the needs of a man. Very Disturbing

Nope, if you want a dating expert ask someone who can maintain relationships for a long time when their partner or partners are free to date other people.
If you want a marriage expert, well marriage is not an endurance contest where, no matter how miserable you are you stick at it. Ask someone who is blissfully happily married after the 7 year itch has passed.
A 30 year marriage where both parties have been miserable for 25 years is not a success.
My dad, God rest his soul, used to try to give me advice about my relationship with my wife. I would always think "Pop, you have been married four times and three of your wives walked out and left you while I have been happily married to the same woman for over 20 years"................
He was the last person I would ever take marriage advice from.

I know a woman like this. Wrote advice articles for a major dating site. Despite the fact she was dumped by every single boyfriend she ever had. Never married until she was 56. And that guy started divorce proceedings about 12 months into the marriage. It was over before they hit 24 months. She's still single. Keep this in mind, kids, when you read advice columns. You have NO idea who that person really is.

I'm in an almost 20 yr relationship married almost 15. It's been awesome and trying at times but you can't be selfish anymore. Those vows said better or worse, sick and health, forever and ever, not a damn thing about personal happiness. You have a duty when you stand before God and join in holy matrimony. People just are selfish and don't respect each other or cherish each other. It's all about me me me. Fucking idiot.

Then I was married 13 years we were having trouble so my wife picked a marriage counselor she was 28 years old and had been divorced three times I'm not kidding. This is in the early 1990s she was charging 180 bucks an hour. I asked her how many times she'd been married she told me three times and I was out.
I was raised to believe that "Integrity" means doing the right & moral thing in every instance especially when no one is watching.

She sounds as dumb as I was when I got married & almost ruined our marriage. Long story, but asking him about what he wanted & thought never occurred to me. We got married at 18 & 19, we're still married 30 years later. But I almost destroyed all of it. I was raised by a single teen mom with a sister. Dad was a momma's boy who never had to be accountable until his dying day so I knew zero about men & boys.
Yeah, she seems to only want to have communication in one direction, lol. Desiring “better communication” usual stems from a woman’s desire to connect through speaking, but a man may want to connect in other ways. And if it truly is to communicate, men and woman communicate differently, not to mention people have different ways of thinking and communicating in general, so we truly do need to ask questions and care about and believe what the other person is telling us. After 13 years, I’m still trying to figure my amazing husband out.

The hubby and I just celebrated 43 years at the beginning of this month, it's been wonderful. Marriage takes work, every single day and I learned very early in our marriage love isn't always a feeling, there are days it's definitely a choice. Another very important thing, God has been first in our marriage since day one! Oops, I nearly forgot to say this women is as annoying as sugar honey iced tea.
All I can say is Amen and great job. Marriage has never been a "fairy tale". Sure it can and is very rewarding if done properly the way God intended. Even still marriage is a lot of hard work with lots of ups and downs. The audacity of this woman to belittle her own parents marriage is repulsive. Every marriage is different with different communication styles and idiosyncrasies. True love has nothing to do with feelings not to say feelings aren't involved mind you. True love transcends feelings regardless of how easy or difficult things are. It allows you to keep on keeping on, even when you secretly want to throttle your spouse 😜. The problem is it seems like most people now are wholly ignorant on what love actually is. This woman is a prime example of the blind leading the deaf. Sugar honey iced tea indeed.

Been married 47 years - our oldest son is your age, Van. I have thanked God every day for my beautiful marriage. Times have been tough occasionally, but the marriage has been our support. I feel bad for anyone who has not experienced similar.
Going to her for relationship advice, would be like going to a psychiatrist who has a pretty bad rate with his patients committing suicide. I’ve been married now for 25 or 26 years, after the first five years, things just seem to be the way they are. For me and my wife, it’s more like being married to my best friend. There are times we argue, there are times we disagree, and there are times we agree. The big thing is we agree on the big things. We agreed on how we wanted to raise our kids

She’s still a candidate for some because of her age and her beauty, but she’s been run through too much and that lowers her value. Bringing along a kid that isn’t the husband’s is a tough sell, as well. The biggest thing that jumps out to me is that she comes across as so energetic and hyper that a man would never have a moment’s peace at home with her.

@@saltycat662 Now there is an interesting psychological phenomenon where some folks who have deep issues or challenges get drawn to careers that require the opposite of that. I know a bunch of software testers who are methodical and detailed at work but their home life is a mess, or you'll have a really talented actor who plays courageous heroes that is constantly avoiding problems and is cowardly in their day to day, or a drug councilor who struggles with addiction themselves, stuff like that. So it seems this lady is doing the same thing with relationships.

Van, at first I wasn’t going to watch this particular show, but I’m so glad I did. You hit the nail on the head with this one. What was so great about your breakdown was you really spotlighted the flaws in her ideology. She kept trying to say men need to be in their feelings when that is dynamically opposed to our basic nature, and she seems bound and determined to change our basic nature. No wonder she doesn’t have the ability to have a successful relationship. She’ll claim men need to accept a woman as she is, yet men have to change who they are, she has bought into the “fairytale” of modern womanhood.

It's wild that you have this show today. Today my husband and I met 17 yrs ago today. We dated for two weeks and married on the 14th of October. I'm his forth marriage and he is mine. We had a check list and mainly didn't want anyone that did drugs and or alcohol. And we wanted to share our kids and grandkids together. He is a soft place for me to land and I am his. No matter what we are first after God to each other. But now he's very sick with cancer and I fear I'm gonna lose my soulmate. 😭 And we finally found the one we needed all this time. God help me!

My wife and myself have been married for 54 years.
I have never called her "the old lady." If someone asks how's your wife my response is "she's okay for an old woman." The first time I was with her when someone asked a question or statement on that line, I gave that answer, and she laughed as hardy as our friend.
Even though we have been marrier 54 years and every time she has to go on a fly for her job, go to work, or just go away to the store, I feel an emptiness just exactly like I felt when I was in Vietnam reading a letter from home.
