Although rendering looks great but after numerous interviews over the years I found most offices are not interested in the renders. that's not architecture after all. Only recent years the architecture firms start to use easy to use low cost renderers such as enscape to convey ideas. but for more serious render they will outsource to 3D companies. instead it's a lot more helpful if you can demonstrate the methodologies of your design with graphics and diagrams. they probably don't even look at the text.

portfolio looks good. thing is that exactly that is the problem. in my experience you have to calculate prices and have knowledge of legal procedurces. when you wan to be an architect or start off in real estate you have to know the market really well (unless you want to become a render master and maybe start a visualisation company)

Doesn't hurt to sketch by hand.
