- My name is Christie and I am a cross stitcher, knitter and crocheter!
I'm also a full time RVer!
I'm trying something a little different than the other "flosstube" and knitting/crochet channels out there... Stitch With Me! Similar to a "Stitch n' Bitch" as it is known in the crafting world... since I travel full time and I'm not around my crafty friends, I discovered I like to work on my crafts while watching TH-cam videos.
I thought others might like to, as well! So grab a project and work on it while you watch my video! Even better, make a video like this of your own and let me know so I can work on my crafts while I watch yours, too!

Hi Christie, so excited to see you doing something so cool! I don't cross stitch but, I do hand embroidery on wool. I love the idea of working on mine while listening to your chating & adventures. I have been watching you guys on spot the scots for a while now. You & the freedom theory have inspired my husband and I to start our journey to full time. I am in the process of cleaning out my craft& sewing room. Everything I am keeping is mostly hand work. Took a break from the sorting & there u were! I'm inspired to work faster and get out on the road with u guys, please keep it coming!

Christie, I'm glad I found your channel! My brother and his wife are full time RVers and boaters (they RV in the southwest fall-spring). My husband and I have an RV in a permanent spot by a river in PA and I love making things for that. Subscribed right away!

Welcome to flosstube! I really enjoyed your video! I am a cross stitcher and a crocheter. I love to do both hobbies. My channel focuses on both my cross stitch and crochet. I do my cross stitch one week (Sunday) and my crochet on the next week (Sunday). So I am doing a cross stitch video every 2 weeks and a crochet video every 2 weeks. This might be something for you to consider. I will be watching you anyway. I love your finish! The colors are amazing! I am looking forward to your next video!

Hey Christie, awesome first video. Firstly, Sorry for your loss. Hope things with respect to all your Dad's estate have settled down. I caught the video you and Calico made, and went and viewed a few of your "Spot the Scotts". How exciting to be living the RV life. My hubby is a trucker, and when we first got married in 1998, we lived in the truck for a year...talk about small and no storage, lol! Off to Michigan are ya, I border Michigan, I'm in Ontario, Canada. All your projects are just wonderful. Hopefully you get your knitting and crochet bug back, but in the meantime, you're cross stitching is in full force. It's nice to meet you, and look forward to more of your videos. Great first video! Of course, I am binge watching while stitching, and soon will start your other videos as well. You are living my retirement dream, but I still haven't figured out how to go about it with 4 adult children.

I stitch while we are traveling in our RV so I am loving your video. We are not full time RVers, but close as we take several trips and are leavingi this week on one of them. I am looking forward to binging on your other video channel when I get the time after I get all packed up for our trip.

I love the idea of your video. I also knit, crochet and cross stitch so I'm eager to see all your crafts. I love stitching along with with floss tube videos so I loved having a longer video I stitch with. I floss tube as well, so maybe I'll try a longer video for you to stitch along with.

I'm a full timer starting in 2 Weeks....Yeah!!! I'm a mixed media crafter\artist. I loved working with paper,and all kinds of art Journals.I Knit, ect. too needle crafter.
I love your idea of just stitching and chatting. I enjoyed this video as well, and got a lot of stitching done~
I am also fascinated by the idea of living in an RV full time! I could never do it, living in Japan as there is no space for a huge 5 wheeler, but my mother in the states bought one recently, and she goes out almost every weekend! I will introduce her to your videos as well! I look forward to seeing more crafty videos! I might have to go binge watch your RV videos as well!

I didn't realize Calico used to be a digi designer. I loved digi scrapbooking for a couple years, but like you said it felt a bit isolating! I've been watching your other channel too - my husband and I talk of getting an RV when we retire but now I'm thinking it might put a damper on my sewing room! lol I enjoyed listening to you and stitching. I know a lot of people do google hangouts and they seem fun too!
Yes she was an excellent digi designer!! Check out the Jayco North Pointe 377BR..... It has a center bunk room which is a desk, couch and fold down bunk, lady I know made it her sewing room. There are other center bunk models like that out there but that's the one I know off the top of my head :)
use a steam iron on the back side. you also can mount your finished project on a foam board and use tiny pins to poke into the side of the board. it is a 1/4" thick and very light weight. hope this helps.

I completely understand the loss of interest when my mom passed Nov 7th. We knitted together and even went to Stitches Convention every year. Thanks for the vids because it helped me be motivated again! You're definitely NOT a newbie! You've done some stuff that's pretty impressive! Keep up the vids I will be knitting while "watching"!!!!!!

She will be making more items for me when I have the money, but this was so important. I'm picking up my knitting again, I enjoy it so and mom wouldn't want to be the cause of me giving it up. Nice to meet you. I'm in the UK and we have an RV as well, but much smaller and we don't live in it, but I'm really looking forward to seeing more videos from you in future.

I follow you and your husband on your RV channel. I had no idea there were xstitch/crochet/knitting videos on youtube! The things I've learned from watching RV videos. :) I have so many xstitch kits laying around and I've been meaning to get started again, but that old motivation bug just hasn't been around these last 10 yrs or so. Maybe your channel will get my juices going again!

I really enjoyed your video, & I'm definitely going to check out your other channel about your RV life. My father-in-law has lived in a 5th wheel ever since way before my husband & I even met. He doesn't travel in his though, he lives in Mesa, AZ. But, my husband & I have always thought it would be awesome to have our own RV & just travel around, even if it wouldn't be full time. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more of your videos, & btw, your fur babies are very cute. 😊

I love chatty videos :-) I am a blogger for cross-stitch and life update style stuff. I am sorry for the loss of your son and father. I wish you good luck with the surrogacy. I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and cannot even imagine that kind of pain :-( I love the idea of RV-ing. In Australia, we would need a lot of supplies for travelling in parts of our country. I will have to check out your other channel too. I was stitching along on your video and working on my 'Pretty Little London' by Satsuma Street :-)

Great video! I've been crocheting for 7 years and just got into cross stitching last month. I don't have any Q snaps or needle minders either, but will own them one day. Can't wait to watch more of your videos! :)

I try to get the creases out before I stitch. I wet the fabric, roll in a towel to get most of the water out, put in a baggie & put it in the freezer for a couple of days. Then I take it out & iron it. Sounds crazy but it works for me. I only stitch with DMC so I always wash me finished piece with baby shampoo. Hang it up (most of my pieces I am able to use wooden clothes pins on a wire coat hanger) it is almost dry (still damp) & iron on the backside until it is dry. I frame most of my pieces with frames from the hobby store. I presently have about 40 stitched pieces push pinned on a spare bedroom wall because is so costly. Hope you try the freezer & it will work for you

I have been experimenting with hobbies that may fit an RV lifestyle and I think cross stitch/knitting fits this well. Hey, there's guys out here too, not just ladies :)
Oh I do know this! I have knitted with some men and my father in law cross stitches and even has designed patterns! I just know there are more ladies than men. On our other channel some men have made less than happy comments when I put "girly" stuff lol so I figured it was time for a space to do that 😁 Welcome!!! I have found I've been able to fit these hobbies well in the RV. I had to pare down of course. Soon I'll be showing the size and organization of my supply stash!
bumblesby, there are quite a number of guys crosstitching out there. I've seen a few on Flosstube and several more on the Heaven and Earth Facebook page. I knew a man who did some exquisite pieces of his family coat of arms and of roses. They were oh so beautiful :-) I'm sure you'll love it and be prepared to be hooked onto another 'journey'. welcome back and aboard to flosstube. I do like this format for stitching along. l also cross stitch, crochet, don't knit unless it on a knitting board. I wouldn't mind seeing some your crocheting/knitting projects you working on as well. have you thought about donating the baby's blanket to a charity?

I do donate preemie blankies and I have one I'm in the middle of that I plan to finish. Right now I'm not knitting/crocheting at all but when I do pick it back up I will definitely do them during videos!

I don't RV, yet, but I am learning about RVing and watching your RV videos. I came across this video and after watching, I pulled out my crochet. I am a crafter, too. I have been crafting for many years, like 45 years. My mother would give us girls a craft for Christmas presents every year as a kid. I recently lost her this Feb on her birthday. I have my dad with me at the moment. I do leathercraft, knit and crochet, and trying to sell them, as well. I am eager to get on the road, but my husband is not ready yet, he has 12 more years to retire. I would like to start taking small camping trips with just the two of us, I currently camp with my Cub and Boy Scouts. My goal is to make crafts and sell at Craft Fairs and such while traveling in the RV. Do you know of RVers who do this?
+Deanna Medlin yes I sure do! In fact I suggested it to my mother in law when they start RVing. There's a great group on Facebook called RV crafters. That's a great place to talk about this and get suggestions!! I don't personally sell any of my crafts so can't help too much there. Wishing you all the best in starting out on your journey! +Jansen 123456 Hi there! Do you know what RV's are or do they not have them at all there?? It stands for Recreational Vehicle and it's basically a drivable small house. They are also called campers but it's much nicer than camping :) Many people use them for camping or taking vacations/road trips. Many people live in them full time when they reach retirement age, and just travel around... but in recent years here, it's becoming more popular for younger people as well. I think internet jobs has made that more possible, you don't have to be retired. I hope this helps! Hi. Yes i know what rvs are. Im just not familiair with the concept of fulltime rving. Was just wondering how that Works like you said with having a job. But i figure it could be done if you have like you said an Internet job.
Okay, great! I wasn't sure if you have them there or not! Yes, typically it has been retired people but now with so many internet jobs it's so much easier... also, there is something here called work camping that a lot of people do... working maybe 20-25 hours a week at a campground in exchange for staying there. Some people do it with traveling jobs too, such as traveling nurses, traveling salesmen.
Awesome. We are traveling the same path. I have been trying to learn WinStitch to create charts for my Etsy store. I started with KG-Chart Pro, then tried Pattern Maker and CStitch. None of them really produce textual charts in the way I want mine to look. It's so funny you mentioned using graph paper first. I have a design sitting on my table on graph paper that I thought I would just be able to type into Winstitch. Huge learning curve here. Good luck.
Have you considered streaming on You Tube, it would be even more like stitching together. Your viewers would be able to chat with you live while you craft.
It's quite a frustrating path is it not? I guess it's good in a way, if it were easy there'd be way more patterns on etsy. I haven't even gotten to design one on graph paper yet let along try to put it into MacStitch so now in scared cuz I thought at least that part would be easy lol. What to do what to do?! And yes I've thought about streaming but not right away kinda want to get rolling first and I might do periscope instead of TH-cam bc it's a little more interactive, then also put the video up on TH-cam after for those who missed it :)

+Palette PC Let me know if we can be of any help to each other, maybe we can muddle through it together. I don't yet have one on graph paper to try with but I'll try something small and easy first. I am still struggling to find graph paper with small squares. Michael's only had 4x4, way too big.
