Awesome. I was hesitant to buy the kit, but after reading that you drove at length with no issues I am definitely leaning towards the SeaSucker over a Thule system. It really not any more expensive than a top mount bike rack system if one is starting from scratch.
I just bought one of these as I had limited options for my Mercedes. The panels were too tight for a trunk rack, and I don't want to put an ugly trailer hitch on it. This looked like a good fit. After watching lots of reviews I decided to try it out.
Perfect, I have several cars I don't know what I want to take now I don't need to worry, these things just seem smarter, safer and longer lasting than the competition

So what kind of security is available with the SeaSucker? I travel up and down the west coast often stay at hotels. Should I worry about a theft over night leaving on my car?
Hi Andy, how does the talon hold up when going from sea level to let's say mammoth mtn. I notice the suction cup cell phone holders loose their suck based on elevation change. I'd imagine the same to be of these bike racks?
Just received my mini bomber today. The pump nipple that does the sucking, was delivered to me broken off, so already had to use the spare. Additionally, the suction cup itself does not hold its suction. I’ve sent them an email and called, but no reply yet. Literally tried everything to get it to work (cleaning, taking apart, everything) but the cup does not want to hold its suction (all other cups work fine).
This is perfect for my Miata.this is still way cheaper than install hitch cost $300+ additional bike rack cost anywhere $300-$500. Depending what brand your using. I came close of buying product but I was hesitant due to safety issue. Last thing I’m worrying about my bike would be flying to someone’s windshield. In the future definitely I’ll go with this route.
Hi Andy, I'm looking at using the suction mechanism for a university project of mine. Do you know roughly how long it is advised for the SeaSuckers to be mounted before replacement? and do they lose pressure overtime? if so how long before they should be re-pumped?
I replaced because they wouldn’t hold suction, and the buttons wouldn’t stay all the way down (the orange band would fully show). Usually that means there’s a small hole or crack in the rubber. It just happens over time.
Hi nice review, did you ever have problems from the cars front or rear windshield when you attach the Seasucker and bike to it? I just worry that with the bike weight and fast airflow from the speed could cause strong pulling pressure on the windshield that could affect it! Cheers

Possibly, but you'll have to experiment with the strap that holds the rear of the bike. I would double check with SeaSucker here: www.seasucker.com/pages/contact-us
So what do you do when you get to the location and remove your bike? Do you take the rack off the car, then put it back on when you’re done with the ride? Basically: you can’t leave it on your car cause anyone can theoretically just pop it off, right?
Theoretically, yes. But in 11 years it’s never happened. I just leave the rack on the car, but yeah - it’s super easy to remove and reinstall if you park in a sketchy spot.
It's been a while since you originally posted, but I just purchased the SeaSucker Board Rack for my BMW i3. I'ld been carting around my kayak and windsurfing board with the rear hatch open. I'm thinking about the Talon two pack and how many of these things I could get on my car at once, LOL. Thanks for sharing!! I would love to use the SeaSucker Suction Cup outside on my sunroof for my GoPro while going through Utah and Colorado next month but, I'm afraid it could potentially crack the glass pumping it up. What's your thoughts? Thanks again! 👍
My biggest hesitation with this setup is switching between mtn bike and road bike easily. Looks like you came up with a solution for that with your dual quick release setup. Can you detail what you did/had to purchase to set that up?
You mention that some parts (like the vacuum cups) need to be replaced over time. Is there something obvious that tells you when they need to be replaced (short of your bike flying off the back?) or a recommended lifespan?
lifespan will vary based on your climate, and like any rubber product you will be able to see dry rot or cracking, and it’ll feel less supple than it did new.

Don't be! I drive like a B out of H and have never lost a bike.
I’ve taken a 100 mile drive doing 80mph+ the whole way with this thing and no issues 👍🏼
Thanks for being the guinea pig for the cyclists of the world. I've always used dedicated systems that mount on crossbars, but I find myself needing something I can travel with that fits on any car. If you trust it with your Cervelo, I feel better about trusting it with my precious carbon bikes.
Happy to help!!
Thank you for your video,I’m gonna buy monkey bar
My issue is that you always have to take off the front wheel. I wish they had a rack you didn’t need to do that. I ride Downhill so zero quick release.
The Hornet would be perfect if you’ve got a hatchback/SUV/Van
Andy Clark don’t have an suv and also don’t like the seat just resting on the back. Wears down the clear coat
I installed mine today and tested it around it fell over and dented the side of my car
That's not good! Did you figure out what went wrong?
My biggest hesitation is someone just popping them off easily to steal
There’s a fix for that!

3000 miles. Gg ez
Save yourself over $100.00 and Go with Rocbros suction cups bike mount. Works the same for a lot less $$. been using Rocbros for 2 yrs now and has not done me wrong. There is nothing reasonably priced about Seasucker
If you ceramic coat or polish and wax your car those cups will never stick;)
I wax my cars 3-4 times per year, no issues.
As a guy who pants cars I would NOT trust that thing lol
You make pants for cars? That’s peculiar.
applaud to you, for put up with stupid humans who cant even design a simple thing.
i wouldnt even buy something so stupid, it takes removing the front wheel.
whats the point of having a rack for an item, if you still have to use the trunk for that same item.
They offer a front wheel accessory, I just don’t have one.
