I use to operate port Clinton CO bridge and Danbury DB bridge back in to late 70s and 80s. And early 90s I see the controller at CO is newer than the one I operated The one I had to control had old cranking Lever and break levers Kind of hard especially when the breaks were out. I noticed the desk had been moved. I se a ship to shore radio also DB was very easy to operate. Had air brakes. Division superintendent was up there with us. He know I could operate this bridge so he and the operator went down in the pit to help adjust one of the locks. Then he waved to me then I lifted the bridge and lowered it back down. He was cool. He knew i was just a rail fan. DB has the same controller.
Forgot to add the trains use run over DB bridge at 60 to 70 mph back in the day Man it was loud when the hit the bridge. And it would shake like hell. My younger brother climbed all the way up on top of CO. Thought he was crazy.
Thanks for posting. Brings back alot of good memories.
This may be your best one yet! Great content and the bridge details are amazing! 19:45 had to be loud AF!!!
Nice video and thanks for showing the operation of the bridge too. Seems like a lonely outpost but lots of train action.
This was a great video...its not always about the train but where the train is that makes for a great video
