    The biggest thing every manager fails to realize, is that living in the city itself has become a high-stress situation. Just to get to office, you have to fight with cabs, bikes, autos, and breathe 300 AQI air, and after that you have to fight with your boomer bosses who can't understand why an 8000 line code can take 2 days to debug. It's fight fight fight from day to night with no respite in between. And still they want performance review, daily scrum, weekly status update etc etc. We have to ask ourselves why this is happening only in India and not in China, even though Chinese objectively work harder. It is because of induced stress from Indian managers who don't know any way to deal with a situation other than shout and insult their subordinates. No easy solution except to just quit when your health condition reaches unsustainable levels. The workplace will never change.

      The reality of living in cities has changed . Traffic, cost of living, food all make life stressful. Add to that workplace toxicity & responsibilities of managing a family in this situation makes life even more difficult .
      As employee spends max waking hours at work, it's high time HR starts thinking differently abt how to manage people instead of just renaming & recirculating same old HR policies, practices & systems of decades back

      If you really mean what you are saying - of course anyone can lecture others on what should be done - please consider following the teachings of Jesus Christ who said “Love one another as I have loved you”. Based on this teaching I have learnt to treat others with considerateness and it works at my work place where I am a director of at least 170 people from various backgrounds.

      To add, corporate life itself is a rat race. If you want to slow down then you will see others moving ahead of you and you will lose out eventually. Since there are so many jobless people, it is very easy for you to be replaced. Hence you need to always running.

    Media highlights only CEO deaths...what about ordinary employees? Deaths are happening among them as well...until there is a policy to restrict no. Of hours...when pilots, doctors have compulsory sleeping hours mandated by organization...unless corporates adopt this, these incidents will only increase.

    • @Dudettehere
      @Dudettehere วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Valid point but FYI no doctor is getting any compulsory sleep hour privileges. Recent changes are only on paper. Just guideline banane se kuch nahi hoga when there aren't enough doctors to share the work load. For there to be enough doctors there need to first of all be enough government colleges. It'll be AT LEAST another 6 years before those new college k mbbs pass outs join as doctors and things start looking slightly better.

In your generation a good house would cost 50 lac, the same house now costs 2 crore, but salaries have remained the same. Do you think the young generation are fools to run after money? THINK ABOUT THIS AS WELL > Life is uncertain. No amount of advice from health experts will help avoid death! The Bible says, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” Isn’t this true of life?
    Whether you are rich or poor, live life one day at a time thinking about and doing good things to your neighbour. Jesus’ only command is “Love one another as I have loved you.” Let the rich not store up treasures on earth for themselves but share with the havenots as generously as possible. All this and more the Bible says.

    Indian working places too much stressful, lot of politics and drama, seniors howling and shouting on subordinates to vent out frustration, too much tea break, coffe break, lunch break, gossping , confusion between professional life and personal life, sab apne aap ko bade khiladi samajhete hain or personal life puri mess hoti hain!!!

      Wait till you come to stage. You will have all the money, but they will go to hospitals.. I have seen this happening many times.
      India is going through a shitty time and becoming financially independent is tough. Yes! I agree. But that's not an excuse to fuck up and work yourself to grave.
      If unemployment is a wasted life. Dying because of overworking is wasted x 1 trillion.
      Stop being delusional and overly pessimistic.

    Working hard has never killed anyone. But stress definitely can. But so can eating out most of the time, smoking, drinking- things that have become part and parcel of the life of young and old alike. People are sedantary. A life style change is most essential. You cannot wait to do that in your 60s or 70s.
