    I love my driftwood Lykke DPN and Circulars because they make cheap yarn fun to use 😂 I rarely wear wool and cotton/nylon /acrylic blends are more slippery so I rely on my driftwood needles to hold the stitches in place and it definitely classes it up 😉

    One of my favorites but still chiaogoo has the best all round interchangeables! I love their cables. I use lykke for slippery yarn and chiagoo for wool!

      I use chiaogoo fixed needles but the interchangeable always comes undone when I knit with them lol. It’s why I decided to with HiyaHiya needles for my second set of interchangeable needles but I appreciate chiaogoo’s red cable it’s one of my favorites. I do love having the lykke needles for slippery yarn. It makes knitting so much easier.

    If these beauties were available when I was in my 20's I'd have had a lot less difficulty but I can appreciate them now 😊 I have both the 5" and the 3" as well as the DPN's in driftwood and wow. Gamechanger

    Great video, this was a super detailed review! I read that the 5" Lykkes don't configure to be 16", what did you use for sweater patterns that required 16" circulars?

    Hi, I have 2 questions for you. Are the joins smooth or does the yarn catch where the needle and cable join? Also, have you tried these needles with magic loop? I look forward to more of your videos.

    • @MajesticSumter
      @MajesticSumter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi! The join is very smooth almost like it’s not even there. No resistance and no issues. And yes magic loop works great just make sure you have a long enough cable. I hope this helps.

    I just got these but the 5" needle length is too long for hats, sleeves etc..ordered of different cable lengths yet cant get to 16". I'l be sending them back and getting the Lykke 3.5" ones. How do you cope with these too long?

    • @MajesticSumter
      @MajesticSumter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thanks for watching. I actually only use these needles for knitting sweaters and items that are bigger like if I were to start a blanket. I do have a video of my shorter needle set by hiyahiya that I use for everything else

    Are they a pair for beginners do you think?❤

    • @MajesticSumter
      @MajesticSumter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These were my first knitting needle set and I would say that this set is amazing for a beginner. I broke so many bamboo needles the wood feels a lot sturdier. I haven’t broken any of these needles. They will force you to pay more attention to your knitting.

  • @CharleneDandelion

    Just received my set (Umber) but the wood has such a strange color... it looks almost fake. Like that orangy light wood. I was expecting a dark wood. Also all my needles have the same wood color as well, which seems even more strange?? Idk, maybe I will send this back :S I read fake sets don't actually exist, so if that is the case, I am maybe very unlucky and got a set made of a really ugly wood batch I guess?? blehhhhhh I want to knitttt but I am so disappointed in the wood color.

    I know it happens infrequently (and it’s never happened to me) but the fact that all knitting needles are allowed on planes but some TSA agents decide they are potentially dangerous and will confiscate them infuriates me. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think if something is not explicitly banned or a valid security hazard (which would require the passenger to be detained for questioning) they shouldn’t be confiscating anything.

      I have flown with my needles I usually travel with both my hiya hiya needles and my Lykke needles along with DPNS and crochet hooks. I think the trick is to have a knitting project on your needles that are not in the case and have the other needles in your checked or small carryon. Although rare but some government offices won’t let you carry small shears used for cutting yarn.

    They don’t have sizes low enough for me- ChiaoGoo go down to US000. And have better cables.

    • @MajesticSumter
      @MajesticSumter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love ChiaoGoo cables but I love use the fixed set for socks. When I worked at a yarn shop the interchangeable ChiaoGoo set were a favorite of many people. They just don’t work the best for me. For metal. Interchangeable I prefer my Hiya Hiya metal set.
