Do these cars auto downshift? Been trying to figure out how he downshifts for a while.. I see him up shifting with the paddle but don't see how he downshifts.
I miss paddle shifters & unfortunately, I doubt this shifting method would re-return because keeping overall costs as low as possible is crucial nowadays, unlike in the early or mid-2010s.
you've never driven on a dirt road or snow have you? you have to overturn the car to each corner and apply gas to keep the car in the corner. otherwise in those speed the car would just slip off the road, because the surface of the road is loose. it's a whole different dynamic when driving on a loose surface, versus tarmac or asphalt. drivers DO NOT do this for style, but to keep the car on the road at those speeds. the car slides by itself in the corners because of laws of physics. so the driver counters this by overturning and applying gas. these are professional world class drivers. they know what they're doing and they're not doing this because it looks cool. and certainly not because 'it's wasting time'... on the other hand, they don't 'drift' in tarmac rallies, because it's not always needed, as the surface is not loose and has high grip.
