Yup, it’s Skyrim.
ุ ุ It’s the flaw of the day/night cycle created in the engine more than a decade ago. Basically, that flickering is the dynamic swapping of baked shadow maps representing the different times of day.
You could stand still and watch the baked shadow maps tick to the next because they never bothered to implement any kind of transition smoothing between them.
I also despise the stiff animations and blatant NPC navigation paths associated with the engine. Modders can’t swap in a better animation system (one that supports real-time IK) so we’re left with robots stopping slightly before changing paths to the next node.
Makes me glad I don’t have to do that stuff anymore: too many bad decisions made by the higher-ups that don’t even use their products.

@@QualityPen I saw some examples that attempt to smooth out the transitions but they’re still there (the tweak involves adding more “tween” states that chews up GPU memory).

Most of his mods aren't even graphics mods. You can really just look at the footage and tell what was used. A few texture packs. Some bump map stuff. Obviously SFO. Bigger trees. Some enb stuff and really everything else is tiny stuff you won't notice

@@spartan343x2 you have to really thank the modding community. They're remaking morrowind and oblivion in the skyrim engine. Skiwind is actually near launch. And the entire beyond skyrim mods are insane too. They're a recreation of all the provinces in tamriel for the base game

nine months since you commented, but wabbajack is a pretty easy to use modpack tool.
@@CoDaCrypt i tried it with skyrim vr and it worked pretty good, most packs are like 100gb tho and you have to buy nexus premium
@@CoDaCrypt yes but it would take really long and its repetitive. the mods just pop up and you click download, repeat for every mod. so if you dont want to buy premium i'd recommend you get a small modpack. premium is only a couple dollars so it can be a time saver.

There's a ton of good tools out there to keep 400+ mod lists fairly stable and run well these days. Follow a guide to start out with and you can get a game that looks like this and runs at 60fps no problem. It just takes a lot of time to download all the mods.
And many more hours to instal it right and adjust settings.

It would be an exaggeration for me to say this, but I really wouldn't be surprised if buying a 4K camera, cool weapons and costumes, training wild animals, hiring a bunch of actors, and booking a flight to Norway or wherever turned out to be cheaper than putting together a computer that plays a modded Skyrim this well.
