13:40 I think Harstem might still be getting use to the math in WC3 vs SC2. SC2 damage deals in absolute and armor vs damage can be matched out immediately whereas WC3 damage it really come down to a range and the “feel” of it. Harstem saw his blade was low on icon but at 25% against 1 low level creep he has no chance of dying even with mana burn. Great training session altogether

I still think that at this level, moment to moment coaching will mostly not work. Like 6:03 is how Grubby himself would do it, hex, click demon , go back to empty burrows and come back to look at the fight, all in a moment. Harstem can also easily do it, if he has it in his brain, but due to the delays of moment to moment coaching, it does not work. Grubby thinks it, says it, Harstem hears it, processes, stops what he is doing, does what Grubby tells him, but he had not clicked demon, instead he wanted to surround him manually with move commands, so he interrupted his move commands without correcting for going back and doing one thing.

Dissecting the replay seems the better approach to it.

@@silviuvisan505 he does both guys. he is coaching him for a month lol. its like going to the gym. u need to hit the same muscle groups with different exercises for maximum results

@@silviuvisan505 They also do it, but for the games, the coach should mostly do forecasting or expectation of what to come and how to react and only intervene if absolutely crucial.

Agree completely. Obviously this whole thing is more about creating a fun stream than having an effective coaching session.

Yeah in the moment coaching is generally overwhelming and not effective for learning.
It’s good to have your coach over your shoulder while playing. Coach can take notes and give the occasional conceptual hint/tip. But spamming orders to the coachee will result in bad games and not as much learning.
Grubby, take your notes during the game, give the occasional hint/tip like “if you’re planning to do x, you should be creeping to lvl y, and once the z condition is met, you can do x.” Give them conceptual advice, not play by play orders. Then take your notes at the end of the game and show him every criticism you had in the replay of the microadjustments he can make to better achieve x.

It's intense but there's no substitute for instant correction and real time feedback and reasoning
I think there's some adjustment to be made with how much orders go out and how much reasoning is explained, but replay review isn't coaching.

tbh grubby I think you really misleading the guy. he loses games cause he strickly playing with 50 pop, losing games, cause his final comp is probably hard at the highest level, but at his level it's just weak, give him some easier strategyies too. like wyverns or taurens he would reach 1900 much easier
