  • * DO NOT USE A CHARTPAK MARKER! It bleeds. Just use a brown Sharpie.
    The Mil-Spec mayfly nymph is an easy but realistic mayfly (blue-winged olive, PMD, etc) pattern.

    Excellent fly, Cheech. I am going to have to tie some of those up this winter. I just hope winter comes back here in the east. I'd hate to get distracted with fishing!

    Wonderful fly pattern. Well filmed and talked through. Thanks. I'll be trying this one out soon.

    After you lay down the flat thread body, if you don't want the rib to bleed, you need to spin the thread in the opposite direction to cord it up tightly.....that will give a tight rib no matter whether it is given an alternate color or not..............

      Piedscooter1 correct. But with this fly I am going for a completely smooth body

    Cheech this is an awesome bwo fly. I fish a ton in Maine and hooked and landed an 19in landlock salmon and several native brook trout, on a size 18, thanks for sharing love your style.

    How deep does this tend to run in the water and what situations do you find yourself using them? I need to gear up for some early spring BWO hatches and these looks like they would do the trick and also be a fun tie.

    Your thoughts on the tmc bobbin... do you have them in stock?

      Jason Dubur it's insanely awesome. I like the double arm one with the adjustable tube. It's just as smooth at the magnetic one.

    Uncle Cheech. whats the difference in the marker you used and a Sharpie?

    • @FlyFishFood
      @FlyFishFood  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ink doesn't set as fast in the chartpak that I used so it runs. I'd recommend a sharpie for sure!

      I was cleaning my AR-15 right before I started tying this style.
