    That's Sabaton, all of their songs are about war, battles, skirmishes, Heroes all documented and real. And I'd say 99% of the songs get you pumped up ready to go do something.
    GOTT MIT UNS- SABATON (English version)

    For those who did not know, Audie Murphy was a poet and a songwriter. Some of the lyrics used in the song "To Hell And Back" by Sabaton, are based from the following poem.
    THE CROSSES GROW ON ANZIO
    Oh, gather ‘round me, comrades
    And listen while I weep;
    Of a war, a war, a war…
    where hell is six feet deep.
    Along the shore, the cannons roar.
    Oh how can a soldier sleep?
    The going’s slow on Anzio
    And hell is six feet deep.
    Praise be to God for this captured sod
    That’s rich where blood does seep;
    With yours and mine, like butchered swine;
    And hell is six feet deep.
    That death does wait
    There’s no debate;
    No triumph will we reap
    The crosses grow on Anzio,
    Where hell is six feet deep.
    Written in 1948 by Audie L. Murphy

Sadly I dont have the book on me, I left it at a place i stayed and forgot to bring it with me. If you have access to the book give it a read, you'll find it there but it is a great book.

    To Hell and back is fascinating stuff
    Most decorated American of WW2 - Audie Murphy. 5ft nothing skinny guy who was underage and lied about his age to enlist. The video during guitar solo in the song is from movie made about his exploits, where he plays himself. For the actions seen he received Medal of Honor. Poet, director and actor... Also suffered from PTSD and addiction to drugs that were supposed to help with PTSD(it did not)...he sobered himself from the addiction by locking himself in a hotel room for a week. And as someone mentioned in comments already, part of the lyrics is from his poems... The poem collection is called "To hell and back", the one poem in talking "Crosses grow on Anzio"...

    Just to let you know, To Hell And Back was written with excerpts from Audie Murphy's poem "To Hell and Back" he was the most decorated soldier of ww2 and got a MoH for holding off a German Battalion from the top of a burning Shermon Tank with the M2. Dude was nutz man, he climbed a hill and single handedly took a german MG nest, used that MG42 to clear several more. And the kicker, he was destined to be a Marine, he dropped out of school in the 3rd grade to make money for his family working for a man who happened to have been a Marine vet from WW1, the Marines said he was too small, then the Navy, the Army took him through Africa, Italy into France. You should watch the movie, he directed and stared in it.

However, when my dad started teaching me martial arts (Akido, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Krav Maga), I also learned another important lesson. If I put myself in a man’s position, and step up on and punch a man in the face, I should expect to be hit back, in self defense.0

    To the firefighter and EMT question to the last song question. No you won't notice us. I am not skinny or "built" but bet your ass when I dawn my bunker gear, or my soon to be wife dawns her gear (she is a heavier woman but very beautiful to me) but to see us on the street. No you won't notice us as firefighters or EMTs. But I can promise you you will want both of us responding. With almost 20 years experience between the both of us.
    Fun fact: 70% of firefighters in the USA are volunteer firefighters. We do it just because we love our community. And with out our air packs we wear 30 lbs of gear. With our SCBA its about 70 extra lbs.
    And thank you for your survives. And everything other military vet. A shit ton of respect
