How you managed to sort through, edit, and bang out these videos after a long day of riding I have no idea. I've only been on one bike tour - Natchez Trace - and let me tell you, I was *exhausted* and completely brain dead by the end of the day. Absolutely amazing you were coherent enough after all that climbing to edit and publish a video!

This past spring, I bought two adjustable water bottle holders, and two 32 ounce insulated bottles. I have a feeling its going to be a long hot summer where I live. That is when summer gets here. Its still very much spring time. Cool and windy. in Cheyenne Wyoming.

Wow, that means a lot! I’m actually both a wildcat and a sun devil. But currently, yes, a Wildcat.

I have videos for days 4-6 all done, but haven’t had good enough bandwidth anywhere to upload.

That was a gopher snake. Pretty much harmless to people, though they can bite with a small set of teeth if you try and pick them up anywhere but the approved spot behind the head. They help keep rodent populations in control.
They also appear to mimic rattlesnakes in appearance, and will even rattle their tail against dry leaves to make you think they're a buzzworm.
That smell is Jeffery pines, closely related to ponderosas; take a whiff right next to a fissure in their bark.

I'm enjoying your epic journey! Amazed how quickly you can edit video from 3 different sources. What model is the handheld that shows panoramic / 360?

Thank you for your kind feedback! I'm using an Insta360 X3 for the 360 video shots.

I notice a lot of bike tourists in their videos seem to struggle with the heat and finding water. Being a bicycle tourist myself, I made a name for myself back in the 1970's with many a TransAm (back then Bikecentennial) riders by inventing what I think is a rather obvious modification to the bicycle pack system. Easy to implement, it guarantees you endless amounts of ice water for most if not the entire day on any trip you can imagine to ride in any developed country in the world. More water than you could possibly use in all climates, including desert zones.
First, find yourself a good handlebar bag, doesn't necessarily have to be insulated, but it could be.
Secondly realize, as depicted in your own video, EVERY rural mini-mart stop and gas station has an ice chest where they sell 10 lb to 20 lb bags of ice. The 10 pound bag , possibly 15 pound bag, fits nearly precisely in the larger handlebar bags, with maybe a bit of the bag sticking up out of the top of the handlebar bag, esp with the 15 ib bags. A 10 lb bag of ice contains 1.2 gallons of water, and a 15 lb bag of ice contains 1.8 gallons of water.
Thirdly, the secret to having the ice last all day is to poke holes in the bottom of the plastic ice bag to let the water drain as it melts. Letting the water drain freely is critical because water has a high specific heat and will accelerate the melting of the ice if allowed to accumulate around the ice. If air surrounds the ice, the ice will last all day while you are cycling.
Moreover, the melting ice water dripping from the bag falls down and back against one's legs while cycling, helping to keep you cool as you ride.
Whenever you need ice, just reach in your handlebar bag and pop a few cubes in your water bottle. You'll never have to make a water stop again, no matter where you are riding. You'll make one ice stop in the morning and that's it. When I was riding the Bikecentennial Trail however, I had to buy two bags per day due to all the other cyclists pulling up to me and "borrowing" some ice for themselves. No one even had to stop to get the ice since it was at handlebar level. Ice while riding. I was told later I had become famous for this technique amongst the many people who had benefitted from the availability of my rolling ice cooler, and referred to me as the Iceman of Bikecentennial trail.
I developed this technique when doing solo rides through the Mojave desert, in summer, during the day. One quickly finds out that not only does one need water, one needs cold water to make it through the desert. If the ambient temperature is 115 degrees, your water bottle water temperature will also be 115 degrees which can contribute to heat stroke if you are drinking it. You must carry ice, especially if doing desert touring during the summer.

Note: if you do go with an insulated handlebar bag, (which actually is unnecessary), you will need to perforate it at the bottom to allow water to drain since many insulated bags are in fact sealed and waterproof. Since you want to direct the dripping water on your legs, you may have to play around with the location of the perforations.

No, but I wish I could! Maybe some experienced cyclists can.

Good luck. Long wheel base is the way to go. It's your show but my preferences...no pictures of food. We all eat. Then a 30 second introductory shot and we never see your face again. Show us the experience!
