The one thing I feel I have left to make me feel cleaner and a better Muslim is removing weed from my lifestyle I don’t stop sacrifice salah as sheikhs have said you never sacrifice salah regardless of sin.. but I comment this before I even watch I hope this helps me because I want to get closer to allah all other desires I feel I can let go easier but this is one thing that has had me in a grip since I was 17 I’m 25 now it needs to stop. On a basic level is ur health in this life in a bigger sense it’s your judgement in the after life

Inshallah Allah will make it easy for us. I have decided to stop for Allah. I have been smoking since I was 15 I'm almost 35 now. It's part of my brain chemistry, but for Allah I will do anything.

I’m in the same boat brothers. 18 years old - 28 years old currently 10 years of addiction and by Allah I’m fully aware that it has done nothing to help me except for ruin my life. My entire family has no idea of my addiction and the struggles I face with it. Today is day 1 of quitting the struggle (cold turkey) for the sake of Allah and inshaAllah I pray i beat the addiction and I also pray InshaAllah for you guys as well overcome it too. Brother Gabriel is right when he said this is usually a battle that we Muslim’s have to face on our own but I’m starting to find comfort in watching these types of videos and reading the comments that now I welcome the things I use to fear when quitting weed because I know now when the struggle of quitting feels like it’s too much I can pull up videos like this to help me continue on forward with the journey.

@@knobl3506 Thank you so much, it means the world that you’re asking. Alhamdulilah I have been clean from it since that day I wrote that comment and let me tell you I don’t even understand how I functioned for so many years smoking. It’s like I was in a deep sleep for so long because Alhamdulilah now I’m feeling better and more happier than I ever did in my entire life. I’m 100% more productive, my prayers and deen are getting back to a place it should have always been, my ability to socialize has skyrocketed like never before, and my thoughts and mind are so much more positive. I thank Allah for guiding me back and wallahi I pray the same for anyone else going through what I went through. I will never ever in my life turn back to weed or any other substance because I now enjoy the mental clarity and man I’m becoming. Putting your trust in Allah is a very powerful thing I would recommend to anyone. Lastly if anyone is reading this, my one message and tip would be to PRAY NO MATTER WHAT BECAUSE THE PRAYER WILL WIPE AWAY THE FILTH. Even if you’re still in filth, continue to pray and eventually the prayer will bring you to the light. Thank you again.

Appreciate you brothers so much. Seems like this is an issue affecting a lot of the young Ummah, especially with the increase in legalization and cannabis dispensaries popping up. I can see our future generations struggling even more with this fitnah. I know a lot of people don't approve of publicizing sins but I think it's necessary if it's done to help others stop/avoid it. If you've experienced it, they cant say "Oh you dont know the struggle" or "you don't know how harmless it is". If they don't hear from you that the path only leads to addiction, abuse, and distancing from Salah (and thus your Creator), who will they hear it from? Otherwise they'll hear about it from friends and such who will encourage it. Being honest with yourself is the first step, and Alhamdullilah I did that. #Freedomfromaddictions

I was smoking weed for 5 years everyday. Heres a list of things I did to make me stop
      1. Make sincere dua to Allah to free you off this khamar and addiction.
      2. Stop smoking for just 3 days and pray 5 times a day read lots of quran and research in those days all the negative effects of weed not just Islamically.
      3. Get a pen and paper. Write down two categories, benefits and negative of smoking weed. You will find that the benefits will be nothing vs the negatives. E.g the only benefits I had was that i thought it make me less anxious and made me emotionally numb to the trauma in my life.
HOWEVER now that I have quit I realised these benefits that I thought it was giving me were not true at all, it made me more anxious as I would be dependant on it and it the numbness made me emotionally weak.
      4. Remove the people in your life who keep asking to smoke weed with them OR atleast tell them you don't want to smoke anymore and see how they react.

As'Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu...
If you're smoking weed and you can't stop, then that is tantamount to committing Shirk, a'uthubillah and the prayers are not excepted until 40 days after the addiction has stopped but that doesn't negate the PRAYER because your still obligated to perform the Salaat ...
And yes it's an addiction to something other than AllAAH aza"wajaal and that is no doubt a serious issue...
Yaa Muqallibal Quloob Thabbit Qalbee Alaa Deenik...

For example high up in the government, they can still work in the government, but not high positions, am I right? Because in the rashidun state of the prophet pbuh I don't think women worked in positions of power in government, correct me if I'm wrong tho. Just need to know can't really find info online.

Women in islam are not allowed to be in positions of leadership. Yes, they have a political say for example women were also required to give bay’a when choosing leaders but in terms of being the leaders themselves then no. This is not from Islam and there is consensus on this by all scholars upon the Qur’an and Sunnah.

This is honesty in spreading awareness of issues that has to be dealt with tho. The brother is also not bragging about it as it is narrated in the ahadith to the top of the thread here.
The essence is that Allāh will not forgive that one who is essentially bragging and seeing the evil deed as "cool"
      This is definitely not that.

The thing is. Are you sure smoking weed is haram? Who told you that and in what basis?? Is the reasoning logical?
With that said, dont smoke weed. It makes you lazy. (Edit: Also, like with sugar, porn or coffee, you can easily get addicted to it). Also, dont consume other harmful stuff like sugar or porn. Coffee can be considered a stimulant drug as well. The difference between those and weed is how modern society sees them which bleeds in to our religion.
Follow the Quran, and more importantly, undrstand the spirit of the quran and dont belive in algernative narratives that pass as religious while they contradict the spirit of the Quran. As the Quran tells us, beware the so called scholars of Islam. Allah tells us that he made the message clear for everyone and that the Quran is complete. Scholars will tell you that the Quran is very difficult and incomplete without alternative narratives made by humans. Which one do you belive? Thats your choice.
