    Hahaha, I found myself gasping when you dropped the glass vase, lol. Just this morning I was cleaning the windowsill and knocked over the same plant, which is in pon, not once, not twice but 3 times so you're not the only butterfingers 🤣🤣🤣I love the humour you bring to your videos and have also found myself saying "Like a frog in a sock" an awful lot.
    At the moment I am currently propagating some Mamei Silver Cloud, Cebu Blue, Monstera subpinnata, Hoya biakenensis Splash, Micans and Pellionia pulchra all in prop boxes filled with moss and pumice. I have used the moss filled ziplock bags before with good success and want to try propping my billietiae Black that way soon although I'm a bit nervous of doing the initial chop as I haven't propped one before.

    Oh no!!!! I just watched your glass vase bust & I think I stopped breathing for a minute! The look on your face was said everything! Nothing embarrassing about that! Like you said, that is real life! Every single plant person has broken at least 1 vessel & has dropped several plants & have dirt, leca, & pon EVERYWHERE!!! thanks for putting out another video & keeping it real! I guess misery loves company! lol

      Haha yeah true. Glad it was leca. If it'd been anything else the mess would've been horrendous haha

      @@petevsplants7516 Not a whole lot right now. I've got a couple syngonium and epipremnum trying to take root ...been pretty slow as the weather here is cold, and I don't have a heat mat. 😝

    Isn't that what we do with children no glass plastic only, LOL ahh it happens to all plant enthusiasts, my atob was doing great the internodes were close together then I moved it and now its gone leggy, after seeing your baggy method I think I'm gonna give it a try, chop of the top leggy bit and hopefully it works so I can repot it back in for a real full plant. Thanks for all these videos great entertainment, Cheers.

      Yeah... 100%. My pleasure, mate! Let me know how you go with the baggy method if you use it.

    I do love how you diversify your growing mediums! I'm looking at trying some sort of gravel 'pon' substrate at some point maybe even just some zeolite I have laying around just for shits and giggles. Even though we all know 20 cuttings of the same plant in the same prop box will all do differently we just can't help but experiment.

      Haha that's my way of trying to make sure when I screw one of them up, I don't kill everything I have haha.I've got a pon video coming in a week or so. I've just started using it (hoping it works well).

    Hi Pete great video I picked up one from bunnings it was in rough shape. It is one of the slowest plants to prop and grow in my experience It sits along side my gigas I’m hoping they encourage each other to grow 😂

      @petevsplants7516  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know... wtf is with that? I've heard people rant and rave about it elsewhere saying it's easy and a fast grower, but my experience has been like yours. Slow AF!! haha good luck with the gigas mate :D

      @@petevsplants7516 I only got my plant earlier in the year, but they seem to be as easy as Burle Marx to propagate in water it seems, I have secondary roots and it’s only been 8 weeks since I took the cuttings. I’ll be potting them this week probably

    It would have been so much easier to remove the moss if you would have soaked it first.

  • @vicky3792
    @vicky3792 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In moss I have cuttings of variegated vanilla orchid, philodendron strawberry shake, philodendron painted lady, philodendron verrucosum and philodendron Tortum. The one I’m most worried about is the verrucosum. Although I don’t see roots yet the painted lady seems to be very stable as if she is rooted. It’s only been 3-1/2 weeks. I’m afraid to disturb her to check. How long should I wait?

    • @petevsplants7516
      @petevsplants7516  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, if the plant still looks healthy, you can probably wait. But if it starts dropping or discolouring, etc. I'd get on it asap.
