Watched all your videos so far and liking the experiment tank. I have been keeping planted freshwater tanks and looking into planted salt tanks. I wouldn’t get too discouraged about the sea grass. Maybe try root tabs or If your willing to tear down the tank try 1/2-1 inch of dirt with a sand cap. My guess is they are root feeders. That crab is an asshole for sure 😂. Good luck from the US!
Appreciate the feedback. I've tried a much deeper substrate on the new setup and I've placed a few root tabs in as well. I was concerned about using dirt with a sand cap as I have try this on arsehole crabs tank and as he's tend to do he dug up all the soil into the water column and my nutrients went through the roof. This was the reason I filled it with chaeto.
It would have made for interesting viewing. He was first introduced into a community tank up until he ate the community and then escaped. Unfortunately when I discovered him creeping around my bedroom like a Freddy Krugeresk nightmare I didn't think to start recording. Another time I almost stood on him when I taking a midnight piss. That's why there is a lid on his tank now with a brick on it.
