❤You have excellant engineering ideas for glass. That is the hardest part of designing. I have many drawings but, it takes a lot of time to figure out how they will work. I love your designs! Especially the useful ones. Thank you!!!😊

Thanks for your kind words and glad you enjoyed the project. I love trying different things all the time. some of them work out and others not so much. Sometimes it's back to the drawing board and come up with a new idea. Have a good one!!

Greetings, excellent videos. I ask him if it is not necessary to use patina. Thank you . Can you make a video applying patina?

Hi, thanks for your comment on the video, glad you are liking my video projects. No, you don't have to patina these projects, leave then natural and they will turn a light gray over time from oxidation. Check out the video on how to make an octagon solar lantern and that will show you how to patina a leaded glass project. There are also a lot of videos on how to patina on TH-cam. Have a great day!!!

Beautiful spinner! Do you use hobby came on any of your projects?

    • @billstonesstainedglasscrea3310
      @billstonesstainedglasscrea3310  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sally,
Thanks for your kind words, so glad you enjoyed the video project. Hobby came is very small at 5/64" and is used most of the time to go around copper foil projects. The smallest came I use is RU-90 which is 1/8" wide. I used it in one of spinner videos to wrap 1" circles to help support the hangers for the spinner. Again, thanks for your comment and please feel free to ask me anything about these video projects.
      Regards,

Normally when folks make pieces with lead they are grout between the lead and the glass. Can you explain why you don’t need to grout?

      Hi Gloria,
You're right, almost all Leaded Glass Projects are glazed with some kind of glazing putty. I don't glaze anything smaller then 1 1/2 square feet, unless it is going into a window and has to be waterproof. I would glaze smaller projects if they had glass that was cut to small and was moving around inside the lead came. Using glazing putty does add strength to your projects, and it doesn't affect the overall appearance either. If you like to use glazing putty on your projects, I would keep doing it. Check out the end of the video on how to make a leaded glass clock. There are several examples of window projects I have made that have been glazed. Hopefully that helps you out!! Thanks for your question and have a great day!!
      Regards,
      Bill Stone

Bill - Great videos. I'll be making some of those for Christmas. Could you please share the size of the swivel you are using and where I can get them? Thanks!

      Hi,
Glad you're enjoying my videos; it's been fun sharing these projects with others. I'm using a number 6 Ball Bearing Swivel on all my hanging projects. You could also use a number 5 Ball Bearing Swivel, it's a little smaller than the number 6 swivel. I get mine from Amazon, A box of 50 number 6 swivel is about $25.00. They also come in a box of 25 for about $17.00. The number 5's are a little less, so check them out on Amazon.

Hello, Mr. Stone! This is just lovely and I do want to make it. I apologize if you mentioned the size of the lead; however, I want to confirm that it is 7/32 H & U came that you are using? Also, do you sell these? Many regards to your wife for her help. Have a blessed creative day.

      Hi Nancy,
So glad you're enjoying the videos, I have had fun making them and sharing some of my ideas with others. The came I'm using on all of these projects is made by Cascade Metals, there part numbers are as follows. RU-70 U Came, Face Width 1/4", Channel Width 5/32" and the H came is part number RH-9, Face Width 5/32" with a 3/16" Channel Width. You're right though, I think I have said it was 7/32". My Bad!!! Unfortunately, I don't sell these projects. My wife is my biggest supporter and has encourage me to share my creations with others. We have been married for 62 years and she is always willing to give me a hand on these projects.
      Regards,
      Bill Stone
