Though in some ways I think F-zero X is just as if not more impressive considering just how rare full 3D games at 60fps were. The only other 60fps N64 game I'm aware of is Yoshi's story and that game is far easier to run at 60 since it's 2,5D and extremely slow paced. If anything with that game it feels it's only 60fps cause they just felt they could. F-zero X they really had to work hard for it.

Yeah this myth is still going strong around the internet for some reason, the AX iso also contains most of GX and with cheats you can play GX's tracks with the AX physics/handling though you won't T-Drift for long in most of the tracks, several of them are really too narrow to drive with AX physics at full speed
The most important difference I have found between GX and AX, besides the different physics, is the control interface. In Ax, you have analog acceleration and brakes, with digital drift/leaning. @@DarkReturns1 Not necessarily. There are tons of N64-era games that just look horribly and gave outdated control and camera schemes which really impact their gameplay. F-Zero definitely does not suffer from any of that.
I've played this series since I got my SNES way back in the day, and I still consider all major console releases to be utter perfection for their platforms, with F Zero GX still being one of if not the greatest racers ever. As soon as the video notification popped up, I pressed play and over an hour flew by! Amazing retrospective on series that is everything to me. Amazing effort DF Retro!
@skitzocalypso _ I was just thinking simply like a 99 player race, but let's think about the BR concept along with the closing circle. What if for the first lap, everywhere around the track is safe. Then after the first lap if you're more than a half of a lap behind the lead car you start taking damage. This progressively gets shorter and shorter and shorter until everyone except the lead car is taking damage. Last car alive wins. Considering F-Zero already has a mechanic where there are areas of the track where your car takes damage, this fits rather nicely with existing mechanics of the game. It's also interesting to think about the boost mechanic and how it uses your health along with the recharge areas which a player will need to slow down to recover more health. It can setup situations where being the lead car may not be the best position if you're not at full health. You'll want a reserve of health for when the zone is reduced to just the remaining few lead cars.
Beating all of the story mode chapters in GX on very hard is still the video game achievement I’m most proud of. Nothing has ever topped that level of challenge and satisfaction.
GX is in my top 3 games of all time. I have it displayed on my shelf. GX helped me concentrate and make my meditating much easier. I emulated it for years on the PC until I got my Sony Trinitron and Gamecube because of it. The soundtrack is so amazing as well. Absolutely perfect game, would kill for a GX remaster, finally in HD beyond emulation.
@@wing0zero the amount of atmosphere and soul GX had is still resonating with me so much. Also, the controls are so perfect and responsive, unlike some more modern racing games.
Linking GX with meditation is so bizarre. On one hand it is one of the least relaxing games of all time. But on the other hand you're concentration has to be absolutely on point to be able to survive the tracks. I like the idea though, next time I play the game I will think of it that way to see if it changes the experience.
For me, X and GX are still the very best future racing games, with some of the most memorable soundtracks of all time. Unparalleled experiences and technical marvels for their time. Nintendo is stupid to not make a new F-Zero with its Switch install base and technology. It would outsell any other F-Zero, just like Dread will outsell any Metroid before. Miyamoto's "new ideas" request and philosophy, while all we need is 30 awesome tracks and a neat "zero to hero" story mode, actively holds the entire company back. +1 for GX remaster.
Never bought that old line from him anyway. It doesn't hold up to scrutiny when you look at a lot of the other sequels they release.. Look at the Mario Party series for instance
@@veryunusual126 Yep, Nintendo just don't seem to make the kinds of games I used to love them for these days. FZero, Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding etc :(
back in 2004, I managed to finish all story mode chapters on the highest difficulty. Takes a ton of practice and track memorization. I don't think I could do it again at my current age
John, these past few DF Retro episodes are just awesome! Thank you so much for your unbridled enthusiasm and work on these gems! They're so much fun to watch.
I loved F-Zero as a kid, I was too young to be any good at the SNES game but as I got older, I remember taking MV and my GBA everywhere I went, pretty sure I unlocked everything too, even completed the GX story mode also! And I am proud to say I still own my copy of GX, dolphin really is the best way to enjoy it these days. If you ask me, I think Nintendo are scared that they could never make a F-Zero as good as SEGA did with GX, I hate to say it, but GX will never be topped. Brilliant video, thank you for the nostalgia-gasm!
If Mr. Linneman keeps getting closer and closer on each video, soon he's going to tell me all these interesting things sitting next to me on my couch... :-P
DF Retro has become my favourite Internet/TH-cam show. I wish John had a whole crew with him so those quality long episodes would come out more consistently. Great stuff.
I've actually managed to play F-Zero AX in an original cabinet quite recently, as here in Helsinki, Finland we have a local arcade that happens to own it. It's definitely fun time, but the track design is more simplistic compared to GX and it's much harder to drive off of the stage, hence the game not beign as challenging or fun as the console counterpart
F-Zero GX truly is one of the few perfect games I played. Amusement Vision were at the top of their game here, with Super Monkey Ball 2's release the year before.
@@agamaz5650 Nope SMB2, the fact that GX was released 1st is neither here nor there because the upgraded engine was being developed in advance of both because SEGA needed an updated engine for several projects that could not run on SMB1.
@@one_step_sideways That's like saying Unreal 4 runs on Unreal 3 which is sort of correct but also sort of utter bollocks. It's a rebuilt engine designed to take advantage of newer technology some of which is proprietary to Nintendo hence Monkey Ball Deluxe on Xbox runs like MB1, ie more slowly despite being 60FPS with layers of texture maps not present and simplified lighting effects, and yes I have put both together side by side.
In F-Zero on the SNES you can hold down during a jump to land more smoothly. In pretty much every video I've seen on TH-cam about F-Zero, the player always bounces back down instead of holding down to maintain momentum.
F-Zero GX is literally one of the greatest games ever crafted by mankind. And now, a video on the whole series done by literally one of the greatest content creators ever crafted by mankind. Life is good.
In Maximum Velocity, the sliding can be completely mitigated by quickly feathering the accelerator while going around corners. You can get even the slipperiest vehicle to hug a tight line that way.
@@danieljimenez1989 To a smaller extent, yeah. Also, I was surprised to hear John say the later GBA games rely on the "bump technique", which isn't really a thing. Is seems he never worked out how to blast turn.
@@Camtron47 Besides, every game has some sort of pinball mechanic involving the walls. GP Legend just has claustrophobic tracks. It also leads me to believe that he hasn't really figured out side attacks in Climax. (GP Legend, on the other hand can be a real crapshoot about them, and Maximum Velocity simply didn't bother.)
F-Zero GX is still my favorite game ever, years later. I just had so many fun memories with that game. In my eyes it’s practically perfect, even by today’s standards. The skill ceiling is so insanely high
Absolutely amazing video for an amazing series! I should note a minor error though. You unlock the AX Cup in GX by finishing all other GP cups on master difficulty. Not through the story mode. The story mode unlocks the AX characters/machines when played on the hardest difficulty. Thankfully, while still difficult, it isn't nearly as hard to unlock the AX Cup, since finishing GP mode on master isn't as tough as finishing story mode on the hardest setting.
In a way, FZERO GX is the pinnacle of the series, it's still a near perfect modern marvel, which means it doesn't necessarily NEED a sequel, even though we want one.
Ahh the beauty and tranquility of Autumn will soon be upon us. The time of ASMR food videos and retro gaming. This is the time where I go full retro with Genesis and SNES games. The nostalgia is too real
I’m playing F-Zero X right now, and i know many will disagree but X is my favourite, the physics and Soundtrack is on another level, and the n64dd expansion kit’s stage creator is soooooooo fun. Definetely amongst my 5 favourite games even without the Expansion Kit.
I have always been in the camp of F-Zero X! So good. Partly nostalgia though because I played this with my cousins as a kid in the 90's along with Goldeneye.
Dude Fzero X is the greatest Fzero game! Best music, difficult but rewarding gameplay and some super fun multiplayer! One of the greatest game on the N64!
Ty @Digital Foundry for taking the time to continue to make these retro replay videos. I am an 80s kid and love the history behind the games I grew up with.
Having played something like 1000 hours of GX, across both real hardware and emulators, I want to emphasize just how necessary a real Gamecube controller is for fully enjoying the game. The handling in GX is entirely built around the extreme sensitivity and precision of the Gamecube controller's analog stick, using anything else will result in a greatly reduced level of control of your ship, with you veering wildly off course when attempting to make small adjustments to your bearing at high speeds. The game is "playable" with something like a PS4 controller, but don't expect to clear the harder story missions on high difficulty settings. Even some grand prix tracks such as Cosmo Terminal: Trident or Sand Ocean: Lateral Shift become extremely frustrating without the total control offered by a real GC controller.
Not just that. Accelerate is "A", boost is "Y". On the gamecube controller this is *super* easy to do, but frustrating on any other controller. Never realized how well thought-out the Gamecube controller was until I tried emulating F-Zero GX.
@@BillyAltDel Oh man now you remind me of how good the button layout is on the NGC controller. I've been playing Hades lately and you can dash and use your special by pressing A followed by Y at the same time. On an Xbox controller that is pretty much impossible without also hitting B or X.
I've just been playing GX for the first time on my Wii, using a Game Cube Controller, and immediately noticed the integral use of the analog triggers for the airbrakes. I would imagine anything without analog shoulder buttons would make it really difficult to play.
Even with analog triggers it may not be a perfect match. For example, in DualShock 4 controllers, a full press signal is sent way before you reach the end of the physical travel. This means that you could let go a bit from the shoulder button pressure and still be at full tilt from the point of view of the game. The GameCube controller is really good.
If I understand it correctly Mode 7 alone doesn't create the effect of a 3D plane. As mentioned in the video Mode 7 allows affine transformations on a purely 2D tile map (rotation, scaling, offset, skew, etc.). What creates the sense of perspective is changing the scale of the tile map as it goes from the top to the bottom of the screen, making it appear to be getting closer. This is done using the Horizontal-blank interrupt to step in and modify the scale between drawing each line.
Yes, exactly, and ever since I found that out it's bugging me immensely when people get it wrong. To the three people actually reading this: if you wanna find out how Mode 7 and HDMA can be combined to create this pseudo-3D texture-mapped plane, please watch Retro Game Mechanics Explained's two videos on these SNES features.
You gotta learn how to Blast Turn in Maximum Velocity, John. You've got to rapidly tap the accelerator while holding a direction and shoulder button, that's how you take the sharpest turns with the most traction.
Yo, can I say for a second. I freaking love Digital Foundry. These videos that you make are the absolute best John. DF is unquestionably my number 1 favorite channel on TH-cam that's presently and consistently active. These DF Retro videos are seriously such a wonderful fit for me. I'm so the type to enjoy an actually good documentary, and this show is always about an area of games history that I'm unfamiliar with. It's always interesting and seriously so well edited and not to mention professional. There's something BIG to be said for professionalism that isn't bogged down by an overzealous effort to superficially impress, and DF is perhaps the quintessential example. Thank you DF, you guys are the best, and I look froward to continuing to come to you first for all of my PC reviews and games journalism in general. You've made thousands of hours of quality entertainment for me, and I love you all. Thank you.
By the time AX came out, local arcades had already stopped bothering to get the latest and greatest so I never actually managed to see any of these "Triforce" games in person, much less play them.
I wish the devs forced the player to see the "blast turn" tutorial in F-Zero Max Velocity instead of it being relegated to a cutscene that plays after the player doesn't push a button in the main menu for awhile. Tapping A during cornering is essential to the gameplay, making it a more enjoyable game than the clunkier Snes original imo. Faster and variable boosting between different machines and much variation between them with a lot of unlockables, awesome tracks, once you learn how to play Max Velocity, it is definitely better than the og shame no one knows about blast turns. F-Zero GX is my favorite game of all time and X is my favorite game on the 64. Phenomenal masterpiece racing games.
Truly amazing. It was mind blowing at the time to see nintendo trust their old rival sega with one of their fanchises. I think it showed, that despite their rivalry, that there was an underlying respect between both companies. Also, a true demonstration of what the gamecube was capable of. Those graphics still look great today.
We like to see them as enemies but I'm not sure how much actual animosity there was between the heads of the companies. The whole "Sega does what Nintendon't" thing was from America and Sega of Japan considered it quite distasteful. However Sega of Japan and Sega of America acted with a large amount of autonomy from each other. That kind of caused issues when they had conflicting ideas about the future and released two products in the Saturn and 32X meaning neither got the time, resources or marketing it needed. That whole idea of hostility between competitors is a very American thing and wasn't as strong in Japan, rivals are considered a good thing and maintaining respect is considered important. You can even tell this cultural influence from the countless rival characters in anime. Very few of them outright hate each other.
did you just put "nintendo" and "gets the message" in the same sentence ? come on.. don't expect them to do anything different than lazy moves and easy cash like pretty much everything they have done since the launch of the switch..
Ever since I found out that the Yakuza team was behind F-Zero GX, I’ve been wanting a hybrid Adventure/Brawler/Racing game in the form of a “Falcon Ga Gotoku” game. Basically a Yakuza game starring Captain Falcon. It’s my dream game.
Always amazes me that Nintendo didn't go the VR route. Wipeout was fantastic in VR, I mean could you imagine 30 player online tournaments on an F-Zero VR?! That would be awesome!
Many thanks for a really awesome feature, you clearly love F-zero and I'll listen all day to anyone talking about GX, I played AX a few years ago in a crusty old arcade in Mablethorpe seaside town in Lincolnshire, the cab was in decent condition and was quite amazing to play.
Huge fan of these games. I remember playing that story mode and unlocking ax tracks and it was really tough to do. Also have component cables and a early hd tv and it was amazing playing in 480p widescreen on it. Great video! Brought back a lot of memories.
F-Zero GX was the happiest accident I've ever made. Holy crap. That game might just be perfect. It takes a lot for me to say I like a racing game more than Ridge Racer Type 4/Ridge Racer 7. But I think I might just do.
I played the SNES version of F-Zero so much that if you so much as brushed any obstacle at any point in Mute City 1, you weren't getting on the board for the best times. I used to have fun telling my roommate in college that he already missed it when he touched the rail. haha
I love this game series. Played the hell out of the first one, X, GX, and the first two on GBA. Found out about Climax much later in life. If I had to choose a favorite, it's X. I really like the physics, the music, the tracks, the heavy metal theme, the learning curve. It's an almost perfect game. I'd pay a lot of money for a visual upgrade and 120 fps. Hopefully Nintendo has something big planned for the future of F-Zero.
You have to tap the accelerator while turning in conjunction with the air breaks on the GBA titles! Took me years to figure that out. Ping ponging is not the way we were meant to do it!!!
FZero Gx maybe my favorite racing game, I beat all modes in all difficulties, With FZero X and GX I spent too many hours! Amazing games! Waiting a new FZero or Gx remastered!
An hour of superb content thank you sir! Love these long form videos and even more so when it’s about one of my all time favourite game series. I still love playing the original F-Zero on a regular basis.
Absolutely amazing video!!! I hope Nintendo is paying attention and gives this series a "Metroid Dread" like resurgence. How about an F-Zero GX remaster? I think that would be awesome!
Thank you so much for making this video, I loved it! I've come to appreciate a lot more how the games maintain their framerate. Even if I'm not playing, they're so fun to watch.
F-Zero GX really does look fantastic, even today, especially in motion. But for whatever reason, I prefer playing F-Zero X. I’m better at it, yes, but I just find it more enjoyable to race and control. It feels tighter. It’s not coming from nostalgia either, I never had X originally whereas I did have GX. I only came to X in the last few years and I love it.
I only ever played the GX demo on the Double Dash bonus disc, but I REALLY don't like the way it handles. Meanwhile, the controls for X feel PERFECT. It's not nostalgia for me either, as I only bought it last year. It's quickly become one of my favorite N64 games, despite growing up with the system.
Very impressed by the quality and the content of this DF Retro. Superb episode, possibly the best I've seen so far. And DFf Retro are always great. Congrats !
Thanks for so much effort for that wonderful, yet underrated franchise! I've played it since the SNES, one of my very first games I ever played. Loved the N64 title and played Maximum Velocity endlessly. I didn't have a Gamecube back then, so I discovered GX much later and as difficult as it was at first, I enjoyed playing it over and over again and getting better, until finally meating Master Mode and unlocking the great AX Cup. GX is still my favourite, would love even a simple 1080p Port. Since Metroid finally gets a new 2D and 3D game, a new (or newly released) F-Zero is my most wanted game on Switch right now. Let's hope Nintendo gives the franchise another chance, F-Zero is still the king of futuristic racers imo....there are some great ones which come close, but GX stays the best game in that genre imo.
Great video recapping the entire series. If I've said it before, I'll say it again: If you're an F-Zero fan and own a Switch, go buy FAST RMX. It really is very, very good. On a sale, it's fantastic value for money, a damn good looking game, and very smooth. Is it a replacement for a new F-Zero? No. Is it a must have for F-Zero fans who own a Switch? Absolutely.

Given the battle royale craze, a "F-Zero 99" should be an obvious project Nintendo should create.
I would resub to Switch Online for that
Ew

That'd be cool af
Beating all of the story mode chapters in GX on very hard is still the video game achievement I’m most proud of. Nothing has ever topped that level of challenge and satisfaction.
I still consider GX to be the greatest racing game ever made. Nothing I've played has yet to top it.
Have you played Wipeout HD? Xtreme G3 Racing was great too.
Very satisfying and thrilling to play. Enjoyed it so much as a kid but remember getting annoyed at the amount of popup lol. Loved the cutscenes too
GX is incredible. But to me NOTHING beats X with the expansion. Even outside of the racing genre
Crash team racing end of paragraph
Burnout 3
GX is in my top 3 games of all time. I have it displayed on my shelf. GX helped me concentrate and make my meditating much easier. I emulated it for years on the PC until I got my Sony Trinitron and Gamecube because of it. The soundtrack is so amazing as well. Absolutely perfect game, would kill for a GX remaster, finally in HD beyond emulation.
Yeah love GX, also a game I would love a VR mod for.
GX is one of the reasons I still keep my CRT within quick reach as well, lol. How’s the Trinitron? Thinking about picking one up someday.
@@thetwopointslow Trinitron by Sony is one of the best CRTs, so it is amazing!
EXACTLY, dude
just give me hd graphics, sound, new tracks
that's all i need, ffs
Exactly. As much as I like Miyamoto, he's wrong here. He should rather think about new ideas for 2D Mario...THAT needs innovation, F-Zero doesn't.
Never bought that old line from him anyway. It doesn't hold up to scrutiny when you look at a lot of the other sequels they release.. Look at the Mario Party series for instance
@@ducklabsgaming4676 exactly
just the fact that we got those technical improvements over the years would make a new f zero different and "new"
@@veryunusual126 Yep, Nintendo just don't seem to make the kinds of games I used to love them for these days. FZero, Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding etc :(
Wasn't expecting this at all. But it is very much appreciated!
Such a shame that the series has been put on hold for so many years.
Expressing your feelings with memes makes comments more popular. In your case:
"A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one."
Yeah, Nintendo just oversaturated the market then abandoned it
Blame Miyamoto
DF Retro is maybe the best videogame series existing on the Internet. Amazing detail, information and, most of all, real passion.
back in 2004, I managed to finish all story mode chapters on the highest difficulty. Takes a ton of practice and track memorization. I don't think I could do it again at my current age
John, these past few DF Retro episodes are just awesome! Thank you so much for your unbridled enthusiasm and work on these gems! They're so much fun to watch.
This is the content we need on TH-cam. thanks, John. you are the only reason I follow DF.
😂
DF Retro has become my favourite Internet/TH-cam show. I wish John had a whole crew with him so those quality long episodes would come out more consistently. Great stuff.
I've actually managed to play F-Zero AX in an original cabinet quite recently, as here in Helsinki, Finland we have a local arcade that happens to own it. It's definitely fun time, but the track design is more simplistic compared to GX and it's much harder to drive off of the stage, hence the game not beign as challenging or fun as the console counterpart
I was reminded of the news anchor form Die Hard lol
I recently found out about this place too, hoping to go there for some AX action very soon :) I don't know of any other AX machines in the country :O
Awesome that you still have an arcade or two in your country 👍🏴
Can you transfer your GX file into it still? That'd be cool
@@CaptAwesumNo1Zone I haven't tried it out but the cabinet does include the proper port for the memory card, so I'd assume yes
F-Zero GX truly is one of the few perfect games I played. Amusement Vision were at the top of their game here, with Super Monkey Ball 2's release the year before.
Fun fact: F-Zero GX was built using the Super Monkey Ball 2 engine.
@@one_step_sideways yeah I thought so but I was unsure so I didn't correct him
@@agamaz5650
Nope SMB2, the fact that GX was released 1st is neither here nor there because the upgraded engine was being developed in advance of both because SEGA needed an updated engine for several projects that could not run on SMB1.
@@one_step_sideways
That's like saying Unreal 4 runs on Unreal 3 which is sort of correct but also sort of utter bollocks.
SMB2 released the year before
In F-Zero on the SNES you can hold down during a jump to land more smoothly. In pretty much every video I've seen on TH-cam about F-Zero, the player always bounces back down instead of holding down to maintain momentum.
You also go faster in the air so it's beneficial to fly as long as possible.
@@moosemaimer I was too scared to fly too long - more risk of exploding off track. I did little jumps and soft landings.
Someone else noticed! People not doing this has been driving me crazy for 30 years now
@@Sonikkua Me too!
Glad to see Im not the only one triggered by this.
F-Zero GX is literally one of the greatest games ever crafted by mankind.
And now, a video on the whole series done by literally one of the greatest content creators ever crafted by mankind.
Life is good.
Amen.
my 3rd favorite game of all time
In Maximum Velocity, the sliding can be completely mitigated by quickly feathering the accelerator while going around corners. You can get even the slipperiest vehicle to hug a tight line that way.
This is explained in the manual where they called it the Blast Turn technique. It's essential to mastering the game.
This is also quite useful in the original f-zero.
I felt the same when he wasn't side attacking any of the vehicles in F-Zero X, even during the Death Race lol
F-Zero GX is still my favorite game ever, years later. I just had so many fun memories with that game. In my eyes it’s practically perfect, even by today’s standards. The skill ceiling is so insanely high
Always appreciate how well you capture different types of screens. You even made the GBA look good, masters of your craft lol.
Beating the story mode of F-Zero GX on the hardest difficulty is one of my most frustrating and exhilarating gaming experiences.
The production value on this episode is just balls to the wall crazy. Amazing job
I bought a Gamecube just for F-Zero GX back in the day, & never bought anything else for it haha. Still have my copy & still play it today.
Thank you for this! …. I miss f-zero. I have such great memories of the original as a child. Love them all and hopefully one day it comes back.
The production value is incredible. Retro tier is so worth it
Meh. I’m happy to wait a month
@@Rebelscum264 Same. I have patience and the videos will come eventually anyways.
I'm stunned by the quality and 'feel' of this episode. Well done John! Well done indeed!
F-zero GX will always be one of my favorite games of all time. I even took the time to beat everything on master difficulty.
Love these high quality DF: Retro videos. Also nice background.
In a way, FZERO GX is the pinnacle of the series, it's still a near perfect modern marvel, which means it doesn't necessarily NEED a sequel, even though we want one.
Even with what you wrote in mind, the least Nintendo could do is still release an HD-port of GX, or a remake of X.
@@matthewkoester1640 GX also requires analogue triggers.
@@Ray_2112 That's what I've been thinking! Just add a track editor and 30 player online multiplayer to GX and BOOM! Fans satisfied.
So good. Partly nostalgia though because I played this with my cousins as a kid in the 90's along with Goldeneye.
by far the best one imo
It's always my go to game on my N64 :D So damn good!
100% agree. That buttery smooth 60fps on the N64, I repeat, the N64!!! is a technological marvel.
F-Zero X is amazing.
F-Zero GX is such an incredible amazing perfect game. So underrated.
@@BillyAltDel The game has fully remappable controls so you can just set boost to square on a PS4 controller, that's not such a big deal.
GX reminds me of the NFS3 in its atmosphere. DF Retro is some of the best content on TH-cam, keep it going!
Whoever was doing the gameplay on F-Zero SNES... you need to remember to hold down when you land from jumps... you are losing speed.
And energy, landing from a jump without holding down can kill you if you're on your last bit of health.
That's just about the only thing letting down these df retro vids. The (lack of) skill in the gameplay footage is ever-present
They were doing the same on ExciteBike. It's painful to watch.
'Hold down'? Like the down button on the directional pad?
@@powerfulaura5166 yes, hold down when landing to keep your speed and prevent you from taking a hit to your energy.
Same :(
These DF Retro episodes keep getting better and better, thanks John!
F-Zero GX and AX is the only reason why I always have a Wii connected to my TV ... I love it.
F-Zero GX is my top 3 favorite games period. Shits GOAT’d
Hopefully Nintendo gets the message and releases F-Zero GX on the Nintendo Switch with full online play.
30 player death race battle royal

no that would make too much sense
Lol don't keep your hopes up.
did you just put "nintendo" and "gets the message" in the same sentence ? come on.. don't expect them to do anything different than lazy moves and easy cash like pretty much everything they have done since the launch of the switch..
Astonishing production. One of the best video game documentaries on TH-cam.
The GX soundtrack was so good that I had to import the OST. I still have it today and it's one of my most prized possessions.
Thank you for helping keep this franchise’s legacy alive.
Also the soundtrack in f-zero GX is absolutely brilliant
Many thanks for a really awesome feature, you clearly love F-zero and I'll listen all day to anyone talking about GX, I played AX a few years ago in a crusty old arcade in Mablethorpe seaside town in Lincolnshire, the cab was in decent condition and was quite amazing to play.
F-Zero GX is one of best racing games ever made. ❤️
Had to buy a new PS3 slim last month after my old one died. Mainly for RR7. Can't be without that.

Introducing the GBA segment with Iridion soundtrack? You are a man of class.
You have to tap the accelerator while turning in conjunction with the air breaks on the GBA titles! Took me years to figure that out. Ping ponging is not the way we were meant to do it!!!
F-Zero on Super Nintendo is a fantastic showcase of what the system is capable of. I have fond memories of playing this game as a kid in 1991.
FZero Gx maybe my favorite racing game, I beat all modes in all difficulties, With FZero X and GX I spent too many hours! Amazing games! Waiting a new FZero or Gx remastered!

I'm proud I managed to complete fzero gx as a teen. One of the hardest games I've ever played.
Absolutely.
this was one of your best, john
There will never be another F-Zero GX. The preservation of that game will truly be necessary.
How could it ever be lost? It's backed up in thousands of places all over the world. Lol.
