    Thanks Stu I enjoyed that flight very much. I have over 2k hours in the RAF 2000 Gyroplane and flown all of it in western Canada since 1995. We are getting our main rotor blades and heads from GyroTech in Poland and using the Subaru 2.5 litre engines and 4 bladed props either Warp or Bolly from Australia.

    Hi Stu, great vid, just resumed my flight training, the school has acquired a new MTO, it's slightly larger than the other Gyro, and it handles differently, but I've adapted to it quite well, and I'm now onto flying the circuit, but I'm taking it one step at a time, it's all good fun, and I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere, after the lock down, anyway stay safe all the best from Scotland, Stephen.

    Hi Stu, I had an opportunity to fly in a Gyrocopters about a year ago and it was absolutely wonderful and I fell in love with the idea of flying almost wit the birds. I have just found your site and enjoyed it very much. The quality of the photography and the way you allow the viewer to follow along with your commentary and that of the ATC’s is excellent. I also am very interested in the instrument panel. You have probably the best Gyrocopter uTube sites ever and I have watched a lot of them. Congratulations and looking forward to seeing more of your flights. Oh, I live in Canada but the scenery in England is much more glorious.

      Many thanks Maurice. And you’re being kind about the UK’s scenery; Canada has some pretty magnificent areas!

    Great STU about to order the prop for my new gyro I'm building just holding my rotor head and hub bar over my mast to work out clearance from prop. Nice to come in from break and get a little online motivation as to why I'm getting back into it.

    Great video Stu - loved seeing the Beluga down on the apron at Hawarden. Tricky landing, gyro's really don't like downwind landings even a small tail wind component can make a big difference to stability and judging how much energy is in the rotor system. I'm sure in part 2 we see you depart the field OK with the wind changing direction.

    • @StuWithAView
      @StuWithAView  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was more that I hadn’t fully countered the drift from the right crosswind; poor technique 😊

    28:00 Is that the Mersey to your right? I've been binge-watching gyro videos today. It's a delightful change to come upon this British one. Greetings and blessings from one in the States. I'm subscribing to your channel. Really enjoying this one.

    • @StuWithAView
      @StuWithAView  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the sub, and glad you enjoyed the video. The southerly river is the Dee, the northerly is the Mersey; the Wirral peninsula lies between the two. That’s where I landed, and where I live. If you’re a golf fan and watched the British Open from Royal Liverpool, that’s at the NW tip of Wirral. The river directly beneath at 28:00 is the Dee; the Mersey is off to the right about 7 miles distant.

    Great video! As the farmers field is so large, couldn’t you have ad-libbed a little and landed into wind?

    • @StuWithAView
      @StuWithAView  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. The ideal approach would have been from the south, so into the northerly wind; but this involves approaching over a field full of horses which can spook them. This would not keep the farmer happy 😊

    Nice flight. Do you ever come to Tollerton, Nottingham? Was wondering if you could take me up, or I could come to you. I used to fly gliders then went solo from Retford, Gamston.

      Yes, I would like to have my iPad mini5 integrated into the dash. But I love my large altimeter, speed and VSI.
      So I just have it on my left thigh, although I'm not quite happy about it. Soloing soon... I have a fluid compass
      in the same spot as Stu's VC compass and next to it I'll add my phone in landscape mode. Both iPad and phone
      running SkyDemon, of course...
