  • During this time we were learning to drive along the crest of the dunes and follow a natural course from crest to crest instead of driving up and down the face of a dune. This made travel easier. Dipping into the crescent allowed us to whip up to the next dune. This was the early days of improved suspension and lighter tires.

    I was at Glamis during Thanksgiving of '85. I had an '84 KX250. It was the first purchase I ever made on credit/loan. I was 18 years old then, lol. My neighbor had 3 wheelers and I was lucky enough to go on vacation with them in 85 to the "sand dunes." It was my first trip riding in the sand without a paddle tire. Those are some of the best memories I have.

    I was there 1990 first time ❤. Never been back!! I got sand mountain Nevada now !! Golly I miss the VW’s that is why I still have one

    Good video I was out there in the 60s and 70s when everybody had water pumpers No rules and no cops It's nowhere near as fun as it used to be there's way too many people

      That was Olds. Comp is actually tiny now.
