Textile ropes, slings, tapes, and accessory cords are ubiquitous in climbing and almost always we use knots in their application. Material and construction as well as knot shape and the direction in which the load is applied to the knot influence how much the original material is weakened by the knot. Of course, they all have to be strong enough to hold, but how much safety reserve remains? Which textile with which knot is particularly suitable for which purpose? Material und Konstruktion sowie Knotenform und die Richtung, in der die Last auf den Knoten kommt, haben Einfluss darauf, wie stark das Ausgangsmaterial durch den Knoten geschwächt wird. Thanks for the video. It would be very interesting to have tried the Clove Hitch as it is often used to regulate the length of the sling.
Edit: and tested with one brand and two brands :)
