Here she is 9 and taught herself to sing by listening to this music. With professional music training, she is now about 16, and her voice is even more stunning. She performs regularly, giving some of her earnings to build school playground equipment in South Africa where she now lives.
First of all this concert was in Holland in Maastricht. Amira is one of the real rare talents who can compete with the best of them. She is now a mid teen and this voice is a blast. And the crazy thing is.. she will get better .
I remember seeing this concert on TV last year (a repetition, of course. I love André Rieu's concerts, they are out of this world) and being mesmerized with this little girl and her powerful voice and her immense talent. I was 😮😮😮

Amira was actually 10 here (July 2014) and the audience numbered approximately 15,000 but no matter ... incredible performance regardless. A little bit of her background if I may, and it's quit a fairy tale story. She had a dream to be on TV. Just once, to sing a song she loved. Absolutely no expectations. She wasn't a pop fan, but loved the classics and opera. As kids do she searched YT and began practicing in front of the screen. This at age 7,8 and 9 ! No formal voice training or lessons at all before her first audition on 'Holland's Got Talent' (HGT). Totally self taught. She bugged her parents and at 9 they finally relented and she had her HGT audition August 2013. She sang this song and it went viral, when it was discovered by the judges that she'd never had a voice lesson and was self taught. For shocked judges, one of the best 'Got Talent' videos out there lol. Worth a look. That audition shocked the conductor here (Andre Rieu) also and that's how this video came about. Minimal lessons for her final two HGT performances (she ended up winning HGT 2013) and Andre Rieu helped her with this performance. Fast forward. As Pavarotti is said by many to own 'Nessun Dorma'.... it's been said Amira owns the female interpretation. She sings a stunning version of that classic at only 13 in front of 8000. Sorry for no link but maybe someone can help with that. I see your a 'Queen' fan and therefore probably familiar with Freddy's pop-opera 'Barcelona', he duets with Montserrat Caballe. This performance was in 2014, not 2015. Amira was 10 1/4 years old. It was in the Netherlands , not South Africa. She moved to South Africa, her mother's home nation, in January 2018. She is now 16, but will be 17 in late March. 2021. Holland's Got Talent was in late 2013 when she was 9. See her True Love video. See her Lord's Prayer video for a current sample. You may enjoy some of her more recent songs. Nessun Dorma (CIG 2017 version), Sound of Music Medley, Caruso. There are many more on You Tube. Her charity, Gelukskinders, is also featured on You Tube. Andre Rieu has made opera and classical music popular to people who thought they didn't like either. Before covid 19 he spent many years touring the world with his own Johann Strauss Orchestra.

Last month [November, 2022] she returned to San Jose, California, and conducted an improved version of the opera. Earlier this year, Cinderella was suddenly ill in Salzburg, Austria with no understudy. Alma stepped into the role in German with three hours warning. There are a number of reviews of her playing the third movement of her violin concerto.
