I watch every documentary on castles and fortifications but this is the first time I've heard of the Xian city walls. This is so impressive on the scale of Constantinople, amazing yet so few have heard in the west.
As I have said a couple of times, a must visit the City Of Xi'an to have a deeper feeling and understanding of Chinese Dynastic history. I walked along the entire inner side of the wall that took me 2 hours. It was exhausting but awesomely inspiring.👍🇲🇾
Xi'an city wall is so beautiful. Luckily, some of China's great history such as this Xi'an city wall is saved to this day for future generations to learn and be proud of their history and civilization. Beijing City wall and Nanjing city wall are not so lucky to surive. So sad that these pieces (Beijing city wall and Nanjing city wall) of beautiful Chinese history have been destroyed. When idealogy and i g n o r an ce rule, huge damage to history and culture can badly be done forever.
Nanjing City Wall still exists although not in complete forms as Nanjing was ravaged by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom rebellion and the Japanese invasions as well as the destruction in the 1950s. Some parts of the remaining Nanjing City Wall are still very long.
I'm glad they did it this way so you have a birds eye view of the scale of the whole thing. Too many documentaries zoom right in or do constant jump cuts that you have no idea what and where they're showing.
I have no word to describe my feelings about China and chinese history.I love China.
vieni in italia e poi vediamo

Great to hear that you have visited Xian. Next time, you can plan a day trip to one of the Tang Dynasty Emperor's tombs.
Every time I visit China, I always go to city Xi an. Every time I visit Xi an, I get on the wall. It’s awesome and magnificent
I rode the city wall on bike with Chinese friends in 2018; really wonderful
Regretted not going onto the wall when I was there. Hope to go there again.
This has to be chosen as a UNESCO heritage site, it's absolutely incredible!
This is beautiful
Really hoped that City Wall of Beijing City was kept till today. That will be on another magnitude - because it's the capital of China for 650 years
Beautiful 🇨🇳
ESTA CIDADE DA CHINA E MUITO LINDA COMO BELA SHANGHAIN E SHENZHEN
Nice 👍
Thanks

Nanjing city wall survived but it is not complete, broken into different sections but still the longest preserved city wall

Beautiful
Thanks!
Why are all the shots taken from a mile away?

If you visit you can rent a bicycle on top of the wall and ride all the way around. It’s a great experience!!
西安 僅僅遊覽數日。( 不像在 重慶 隨時在遊覽!必竟待在哪兒時間太短了!)
Where is Mr. Ping? He is so much more personable and seemed passionate about the history of these places.
I am Ping and I currently live in Xian.
Preserve your past not destroy it.
sad, i would have loved to see the beijing and nanjing city walls.
Nanjing still has the ancient city wall
@@firefly4784 That's good to know I've been looking for videos. I heard they were demolished in the war and by Mao.
@@chihoang4085 Here is a video of Nanjing ancient city wall and gates. It is not as gigantic as Xian’s and not rectangular but it is longer.

Beijing city wall can I not be seen in old footage now. It was quite magnificent…
I don’t think you hv ever set foot in China. The city is called Xi An. Not XIAN.
Actually it is Xi'an
這是介 西安 嗎?ㄤ
