  • Enjoy some outstanding motorcycle adventure roads in this 4K Cebu Philippines motorcycle, motorbike tour to the Cebu highlands. This was my first ride on a motorbike in Cebu, or ever in the Philippines for that matter, and my first impressions of riding a motorcycle there.
Cebu Philippines, is a scary city in a lot of ways, and my first Impressions were that it was going to be difficult riding a Motorcycle there for the first time in the very busy and chaotic streets!
After being a bit nervous leaving my hotel car park I almost immediately felt at home again on a motorcycle seat riding through the crazy traffic, and it turned out to be one of the best adventure rides I have done so far on road. So I hope you enjoy the ride as much I did doing it.
See you out there, and thanks for watching.

Enjoyed that as I've spent some wonderful times on Cebu since I first went there on a Round the World trip in '98...A piece of my heart resides there down Moal Boal or Panagsama way....Jack

I’m a U.S. expat retiree, decking out my Kymco Downtown 350 for touring with my Filipina asawa of 28 years. We hail from Cebu, and will be going down the same roads you’re on. Just loads of fun, and a great way to be being at my leisure. Great tour, thanks!

Thanks Roy, great fun roads and scenery for motorcycling.
Take a look at my Osmena Peak ride from Cebu, that truly was a big adventure and stunning scenery! Too much in one day, to be honest, so if you do it I suggest at least one overnight stop somewhere

I've been living in the Cebu area, off and on, for a total of over ten years now. Property crime is pretty common, though getting less so. If you stay out of bars and don't start offering unsolicited opinions regarding religion or politics physical safety isn't an issue. I stay out of the hills during the wet season. The big hazard is the road bed washing out under the pavement. You think you are on a stretch with no shoulder and it's actually a slab spanning a gap of unknown size. As long as you can see weeds on both sides of the road you're probably ok.

Mt Manunggal was the peak that president Magsaysay (of the Philippines) crashed into. Along that walking path you would have seen a radial engine from plane (all the rest were pilfered)
I used to live in cebu but gave retired since and live in Zamboanga del Norte now but still ride

Awesome 👌 would love to ride a sniper, to see how it compares to an aerox, N max.
The Philippines is quite underrated as a motorcycle touring destination for foreigners. There really are some amazing rides.

Just had a look at the area you rode and it's on my short-list too.
      Where did you hire motorcycle?
And was there much traffic etc?
Any other tips would be appreciated please 🙏 🙂

@mototouro1 it was a friends motorbike but if you come maby rent out a motorbike in LA union and sleep in alhayat black Beach resort they have cabin en living spaces for good prices and there is a stranded boat you can visit on the beach .. the Saturdays there are live band and then you can go do the trip roads are good traffic as well if you leave in the morning ad 4.45you should catch the sunrise in the basseng pass 👍 and then you can drive true just not on the rainy season.. we had a bit of luck ... good to know the drive takes about 5 ours climbing and going down.. ... there's a resort called eco resort. nearby the bassang pass with swimming pool as wel they also rent out a cabin 1000 pesos 1 night 3500 for a big house 12 people 😀 .

I just saw your review on the TRK 502X, and now you're apparently having a trip and riding in my city! Hope you enjoy cebu and all the riding spots.
Wanted to get your thought on possibly daily commuting the TRK 502X here in Cebu?

      Hi Ghylo,
Firstly, thank you for watching 👀 🙏
      And secondly...
Cebu, as you know better than me, is a very busy city with a lot of traffic.
I think a mid sized scooter like the N max, X max Yamahas, or similar size Hondas would be a far better choice overall. They have under seat storage, they are light, nimble in traffic, and cheap to buy and run. I rode an N max through Vietnam no problem.
However...if you are planning on doing a lot of road trips to the mountains, and enjoy having a lot more power and fun, the Benelli would certainly be worth considering for sure.
I used a Honda Forza touring in Thailand and I wish that had been a TRK Benelli instead.
See if you can get a test ride first. Lot of $ for a bike that may not suit your needs.
Thanks again, take care, and ride safe 🙏

Great little video mate, how much was it to hire the bike?

    • @mototouro
      @mototouro  ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks Guy. That bike was around the $10 USD Found them to be honest and the bike itself was faultless.
There are a lot of private renters through Facebook marketplace, and also through an app that's common in the Philippines (name escapes me sorry), that links private motorcycle owners with clients.😃

Looking to rent a motorbike in cebu. Would you recommend getting one outside of the city? Would rather ride one outside of traffic although have enough experience to be comfortable

    • @mototouro
      @mototouro  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi drs,
Most bike hire places will bring the bike to you, so if you're not 100% confident maybe book hotel outside of cbd.
I didn't find Cebu traffic any worse than other major cities in Asia (except Saigon, that's just nuts 😜)
      Enjoy, and ride safe

If you're in the city and get a bike delivered you can leave and return very early when there's no traffic. That's what I did at first. Also if you want to get used to driving in traffic you can just follow what other motorbikes do. It looks intimidating but it's easy.

@@mototouro I can't speak for other countries since I was never out of Philippines but I live in cebu though, many accidents happened on the mountain tops due to other drivers by overspending or overtaking the opposite lane without precautions.

@demon6937 Yes, sounds just like here...and Vietnam...and Cambodia 😃 Must say, didn't have too many issues on Cebu, but when I got to Dumaguete, wow!
Crazy lady tried to ram into me on purpose, chasing insurance money I would say!
