When I first heard this song I was 15 years old in my first year of high school full of expectations of what life would have to offer. Now I'm turning 50 and listening to this made me miss that innocent, hopeful young man that I were.
after THE BAND OF HOLLY JOY The BHJoy ATE THE MOS UNDERRATED BAND EVER!!! Great track by the HOfLove but by the end it should have more strength kinfd of JMChain guitars KWImean?
@@carlospereira54 i know right. I agree. I often wonder how the hell can bands like them make that incredible music. That in itself blows my mind. I was lucky enough to see them by my house in NYC.
How The House of Love went under the radar while other similar contemporary bands got so much attention is just a mystery to me. Such a great band. There must have been a payola beyond that, or something else.
Just a great reminder of how grand the 90's were. Chadwick and Bickers at the top of their game before other projects including Levitation and other side projects.
One of my favorite back in '90, '91, '92. I bought this BUTERFLY cd wondering its cover without any previous notice about THOL. I also bought Babe Rainbow...

I've been waiting to see them since I was a lad in high school 1988. Finally get to see them in Pioneertown at Pappy & Harriets. Never outgrow the bands from our youth.

Guy was born in 1956, so I think he’s looking back to the days of his youth (late 1960’s-early 1970’s). Obviously The Beatles and The Stones would’ve had an influence on him (and Pink Floyd Syd Barrett era did too). He mentions school & being 17 and Vietnam in the lyrics which underlines the nostalgic vibe of this great song. The album version has a different intro that features Jagger & Lennon chatting, and Neil Armstrong’s giant leap moon speech from 1969.

Most underrated band of all time
Yeah, the Beatles and the Stones - you might want to check them out.
@@dreamwell2020 Yeah, you might want to check out what "underrated" means

House of love have never been far from my Hi-fi.

Wonderful
The latest album is excellent
And a Hi-Five.
I was seventeen when this was released, and them singing about that age made this hit extra hard - and I would already have adored it anyway.
so was I, feel you man, 1990 amazing!

Great band and a so underrated song. My favorite band from the end of the 80s and early 90s.
Everything I listen to or like is underrated. TH-cam comments 101.
What a song, what a companion it always been, always made me mellow and huggy ^^
The lady dancing in the black and white dress is perfect , like the song.
Such a masterpiece of an album and try smoking pot along to this LP for full effect 😅 its epic.
I prefer to stay sober and appreciate it more, without a crutch.

This is just marvelous.

Better late than never! Timing is everything 👍
I totally know the lyrics. I love creation I love house of love... house of love and then travis...
Can you imagine being SO amazing that future bands write songs about your band?
Stunning band and voice .... memories
Forgotten classic by a classic band who should have had more success .proberly emerged 4 years to early to miss the rise of indie music
To me an early Stone Roses this band are
Ever hear of The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen, or The Jesus and Mary Chain? They were all on indie labels. Indie wasn't a sound.
@@eric1012wi true for some reason all guitar bands were labelled indie probably because most started on independent labels.
There is a blur in what we all say is indie music. But ironically we all that love indie music know what we are all talking about
I heard this song while driving in my car today, heard it for the first time since who knows when...blast from the past...
