- Follow our journey from Stroud Hill Touring Park to Longnor Wood Holiday Park in The Peak District, an adult only campsite in the Tranquil Parks group.
Follow me, my wife Jenny, Poppy, our Westie and sometimes Tara, my sister's Cavaschon. This was the first site I took my old caravan too, to be honest the only one until I sold it. Great adult only site and very peaceful

Hi Bob, when you turned left off the A515 at the book store, if you turned immediate right to Harpur Hill, my cousin runs a campsite called Cloverfields, adult site that is very nice.

Never heard of this one Bob, we like the Tranquil Parks too. We are using CS stops and they have been peaceful too. Safe travels to the three of you 😊🐾
We love Longnor. We have stayed in the village many times where they filmed Peak Practice. Brilliant fish and chips from the little chippy....top tip 😉
Yes it sounds liked they used Longnor is the final series, didn't know that.
Thank you both for reviewing this Tranquil site. We are now staying here for a couple of days, the views are stunning, will certainly return on another tour away from the Isle of Man. We have the car with us and still managed to negotiate the narrow roads. Best wishes to you both ❤️🇮🇲🇮🇲

Know Longnor well as we used the area a lot
Regarding Peak Practice a lot of the scenes were in Biggin and Harrington both worth a visit
A great pub is the Manifold inn where the food is great

In our neck of the woods guys. As soon as you mentioned traffic jams we knew it was us! Gorgeous part of the world and so quiet and relaxing. Looked a nice site so hopefully you have had a relaxing time. Stay safe. Mal and Dave

Some good driving there Bob, personally I don't think with my heights problem I'll be stopping at such a lovely site looks awsome (some narrow roads too). Enjoy your time there all the best.
The “pitches” in the parks where you stay are so well groomed right down to the gravel drives. I follow some American RVers and a lot of the campsites are wooded, with dirt drives. The UK seems to be more refined,even when camping. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have energy like Poppy.

Hi Bob and Jenny . Just watched your Longnor wood vlog and realised aa you passed the Duke of York pub in Pomeroy we were the caravan in the carpark waiting to book in there. You should try it. Its lovely and peaceful with great views and local walks.

There were some big caravans there, so people do tow there.

Went to LWood couple years ago - nice quiet site - I found downside was the approach towing a caravan and imagine even more hairy with an 8 footer.
I’m on Three and had no phone or data signal there either and think Freeview was dodgy as well
Other than that another good Tranquil Park site

Surprised you went via Glutton Bridge which is a narrow road up the hill through the lights. I’d have turned off the A515 onto the B5054 to Hulme End via Hartington, then up to Longnor on the B5053. Manifold Chiipy is named after the River Manifold which flows down the valley.
We followed the directions the site had on their website, bear in mind we don't know the area.
Surprised at the site. I wouldn’t like to tow a caravan up that hill!
Brilliant as always. We love Longnor and can recommend the fish and chip shop in the village.

My wife was a bit concerned about your excessive driving speed Bob, until I explained that the video was speed up !!
I never speed, the camera makes it look faster than it is.

Think it's fair to say, it's a mixture. Also, I try not to film other people.
The road does look somewhat similar to cheddar gorge, however a bit less cheesy. 🧀

Question regarding your Garmin Sat Nav. Could you find the site address/road on the device’s maps & create a Waypoint instead of using the postcode which didn’t help for the last part of your journey? You’re near or in the manifold Valley and near the manifold river re the chippy’s name.
We could have done, but we we wanted to follow the sites directions as it was the first time there and they were clear not to follow a sat nav.
Hey Bob - can you advise what you use to hook up at home - we have our MH in storage so never hook up at home but planning to visit friends and hopefully utilise their electric! Can you point me in the right adapter please

Since the end of lockdown we have eaten in the motorhome, apart from one meal in the garden at the Brown Cow at Burrs Country Park

We are townies. This is the middle of nowhere.
Not like you to avoid Caravan and Motorhome Club sites. We use tranquil parks whenever we can.
We aren't avoiding them, but we did fancy some quiet sites during August.
