I remember this album landed in my lap in the early 2000s, maybe 2003, so it is at least that old.
This was the song that put me on Immortal Technique back in the day. This was the opening track to Rev. Vol. 2, and it just slaps you immediately. At least it did back then because the info he crammed into the song was stuff that was not as easily Googlable, and it wasn't stuff you learn in school.

You have to understand the play on words and that they may not be the perfect rhyme but the message is clear. Speaking of how the Spaniards (“ Christopher Columbus”) tore through the Caribbean and they raped the native Indians that are known as Tainos,which rhymes with Latinos, and created Latinos. Just like the Spaniards raping the natives Mayans and Aztec which made Mexicans. Immortal Technique can teach if you listen and get pass they way he words things that YOU may not like. He’s on point!

Your comment about rhyming is good but in this case it is superfluous. What IT says is Tainos not Tynos. Who wrote the lyrics must not have been a spanish native speaker. Tainos is slang word for people from Costa Rica, obviously tainos has 3 syllables which rhymes with latinos.

bro... not every bar has to have multiple syllables for it to be considered a great rhyme..... there's the schemes, the setups and more importantly, less is more sometimes, especially when you rhyming to build up for a big drop or flow switch up... in this case, hes using phonetics to make tainos rhyme with latinos and he's using the "surprise" element to set up future bars... There is a lot to unpack and its easy for the technicality of all of it to go over your head...

Dear sir, Immortal technique created this song in prison as part of his "good time" incentives to use the prison's studio booth. So that's why the production value was substandard. When you get to the level of immortal technique in the rap game then his studio was too notch that was the difference. Now the conspiracy theories are not all the song was about but according to his extensive reading in prison and outside time he learned more than many Little Wayne type rappers. He was young during the song and was just starting out rapping, but as you can see, his style is iconic. Thank you for your review enjoyed it very much. Cheers.
