@NouveauNick i don't have these pedals, but i was having the same issue with some GPs and what you have to do is adjust them so the beater at rest is closer to the head, and don't pick your foot up so much; it will restrict the amount the beaters fly back and it'll make you faster.
I have one...and it's ok - my biggest issue is that the exaggerated angle of the chain with the recessed foot board leads to one annoying problem: I constant get hit on the top of my foot by the beater when it's flying backwards. Happens all the time and after a while it can hurt.
This is definately THE competitor of the Pearl Demon Drive...I'm kind of "loyal" to Tama, so I'd probably pick this over the Demon Drive...plus it's about $100 cheaper...
Can a single speed cobra be converted to a double with anothe speed cobra? I think there are twin pdal linkages sold separately, would they work? Which parts do I need?
Hey Tama, Have you thought about using direct links rather than chain drives? I am stuck between getting these or a demon drive... maybe i should buy them both and combine them to make a hydrid
Hello i have a question,im left handed(and from Argentina so sry for my lenguage)... i have been looking for this double pedal everywhere.... So.. i was thinking about getting a regular speed cobra, and change it(disarm it) and put it back together as a left handed double pedal. Can this be done??
The recessed foot board also means you have to buy Tama replacement beaters, otherwise you end up hyperextending the stroke of the beater. That probably isn't the worst thing in the world, but still annoying.
SOMEBODY PLEASE GET BACK TO ME AND LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS AN ACTUAL REASON LEFTY SPEED COBRAS HAVEN'T BEEN RELEASED OR A POSSIBLE RELEASE DATE OR ANYTHING THAT WOULD SUGGEST THEY DEFINITELY ARE RELEASING LEFTY ONES OR NOT????? Thanks to anyone that replies!
I love my speed cobra's but those beaters that come with it are garbage. they will wear out in no time and just become flat felt beaters. IMO the wood beaters that they offer are way better. love the pedal otherwise.
okay pretty sure no one will ever see this post. I went to buy a dw 5000. no doubt, that's what I went to buy. tried out the speed cobra, liked it better. It's definitely a great pedal. but that bass drum clamp, is the most over engineered pain in the butt I have ever seen. first of all, I can never get it tight. try crawling around in the dark, no room because your are cramed in the corner. I'm used to that. but to be on you hands and knees in the dark, on some filthy carpet trying to get this thing tight is not good. a simple clamp, no need to change something that's not broke. the pedal is amazing, but that clamp sucks. And for that reason, I wish I would have bought the dw.
@Steven Pounsett yeah they ended up only lasting me about 2-3 years really. also that was 10 years ago lol. running eliminator redline belt drive now and getting better results after 5 years :)

LOOKS SO GOOD!
i had the demon drives for a year but sold them and bought the speed cobra. best decission ive done about drum hardware :)
TAMA Drums Official, I think it is about time you make a video of Speed Cobra 310. We need some insight before buying it. Thanks in advance :)
Totally agree fella, hardly any reviews/videos anywhere on the 310
from what I heard, it's almost as good as the 910 but less expensive
It's the same pedal without some minor features, like the Cobra Coil and stuff like that..
It's just a budget version basically.
Demirel Turkmanovic it’s a tun Cheever like 60$ I have this pedal which is like 160$ and the newer 910 with the new beater is 200
Great video Terry!
The speed cobra is made for left-Handed, bought one my self yesterday :)
They're both good pedals, but honestly, I'd pick the Speed Cobra

Happens all the time and after a while it can hurt.
I've had that issue with other pedals but not this one. have you tried adjusting the beater? are you still alive?
Thank god this is a much more modest official preview of the company's star pedal. The Pearl guy oversold the Demon Drives by WAY too much.
+iDrumGod LMAO YOU SAW THAT TOO!? X'D He was like trying to give rocket science lessons.
JakeTheDrummer what vídeo is that?
nice cue cards.
It's a great pedal, takes a little bit to get used to though
Pearl P-932 double pedal or Tama speed cobra which one to go for?
Hey "T"... nice video.... how 'bout some wing specials- Modern Music
Interesting music choice 13/8. What song is this?
never mind I just saw it at the end. thanks!

Hey Guys, I want to have suggestions but which is more better? Tama Iron cobra or Tama Speed Cobra for an advance drum player. Thanks
Speed Cobra is much better. It's very smoother and faster and you dont need much power for playing it.
What’s the difference between this speed cobra and the new one just the beater? I have this one but I’m just wondering
it was about fucking time!
Hey Tama, Have you thought about using direct links rather than chain drives? I am stuck between getting these or a demon drive... maybe i should buy them both and combine them to make a hydrid
It's relaxing to play with them till the ring with the spring connects to the pedal falls out and putting it back into it's place over and over.
hi guys, do u know if is possible turns this speed cobra pedal invert to plays a cocktail bass drum ???
tks a lot

Why hasn't Tama created a direct drive pedal yet?
Is their a dual chain version of this pedal
Could this be converted to direct drive pedal?
i was going to save up for the iron cobra's....but if these pedal's are better i should get it,
anyone know if ifs a good buy? how much does it cost?
how much are lefty doubles of these?
taco taco burrito ándale
This video reminds me of one of the Apple product reviews :D.
@krisfrosz133 The only different is, that you don't fall asleep in this video, hehehe..
wow ...the demon drive video i actually watched more than 10 sec...

how much ca$h?
When I first saw this pedal @ Sam ash I honestly thought it was a cheaper version of the IC's just from looks:/ then I tried'm ....eh

Which is better? Iron Cobra 900 or Speed Cobra?
speed cobra perfect
Speed cobra, iron cobra feels heavy compared to it.
iron cobra is heavier with more power, while speed cobra is faster with a balance between the power and how heavy you feel it
@voxextremos22 ah this is dual chain haha
is it just me or this commercial looks like apple's?
I love my speed cobra's but those beaters that come with it are garbage. they will wear out in no time and just become flat felt beaters. IMO the wood beaters that they offer are way better. love the pedal otherwise.
i want fried chicken
