Father Mike, I listen to your homilies often and this one was one of the most powerful one! I’m definitely sharing this with others. Thank you so much for reawakening our purpose and participation in mass. God’s blessings on you. 🙏🏽❤️
Father Mike this was so powerful for me Thank you for this homily we are so fortunate to have you in our lives preaching and explaining the word of God.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 We need to hear a breakdown/elaboration like this over & over again at our parishes, so that praying the Mass is no longer about just going through the motions. Thank you for educating us Fr. "What a gift" 🙏🏾🤗
Wow, Father Mike, you have, once again, left me speechless with your homily. Strange how we grew up knowing the meaning of the mass, but we all need a reminder of its true meaning, once in a while and you have done it perfectly. Thank you for bringing the true meaning for attending Mass to our attention. I will definitely see and worship at Mass with more devotion after listening to you. You are awesome. I will keep you and other priests in my prayers.
I am a convert of 42 years. I have been Catholic for more years than not! Fr. Mike, you have deepened my understanding of our beautiful faith in such a profound way. Thank you. May our Father bless and keep you close to Him, protected and continually sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Amen

From Pagosa Springs, CO. I listen to your homilies so often. Found you during our Covid lock down. Thank you from an old lady that wishes she were a college student again.
Absolutely agree and I'm very thankful for the reminder for when I have blips with crises of faith, not Jesus, but the church on earth and let things get to me. I know we are all sinners, "but" I get upset at things like this because of things like that: things like this: silence, refusal to talk about the"hard things" of the times (that is not charitable as it keeps people stuck and not know where to go for help - avoidance is not love) ..things like that: that I am fearless in talking to patients, family, friends, strangers, whoever, about truth so that they are not led to more sin and pain, loneliness and hardships that could be helped, prevented and healed when we are not silence "in fear of offending" (which may more be like, not wanting to be not liked...it's not about the priest. I'm also upset often that there isn't real resources presented to people outside of confession of a sin. Sin is self medication for wounds. The lack of connectivity is what drives people away too. I'm just inviting this as a reminder, to remember why it's understandable. I'm a single, chaste women actively open to marriage and family, serving as a nurse and other roles, and yes we all sin, but with what I know as a Catholic nurse, I can't and wouldn't just go get IVF because I want a baby, or just marry whoever, because I don't want to be alone.......some things are not easy acceptable. Not all sins are equal when we are in positions of leadership. Yes, we are all sinners - no brainer, but for me to teach NFP and chastity, but then just use the excuse that I'm a sinner, oh well, and go have premarital sex or go do IVF. We have to be careful to not be realistic as well. I understand, I do. I just think of those who make excuses vs work on their wounds, sins and instead of making excuses, we get to work on bettering ourselves. I've met way too many gay priests for whom I pray definitely, and talk to them as well but the seminaries have to get better....they HAVE to have better screening and act like they truly want healthy, holy priests.....so yes, the attack on the church - priests! -- is very real, but are we mostly all aware of them, and do better where we can, to ensure we are not la la land for what it is needed to ensure we are doing our best to cooperate with making sure we are protecting our Church. Thank you for your homilies and explanations.

For those wondering, the flash at 12:09 -- "And I want my external to convey that internal" -- it said that on a black screen
What's the meaning of that?

You are indeed Holy, O Lord,

for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,
by the power and working of the Holy Spirit,
you give life to all things and make them holy,
and you never cease to gather a people to yourself,

He joins his hands and, holding them extended over the offerings, says:
Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you:

He joins his hands and makes the Sign of the Cross once over the bread and chalice together, saying:
that they may become the Body and + Blood
of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,

at whose command we celebrate these mysteries.
In the formulas that follow, the words of the Lord should be pronounced clearly and distinctly, as the nature of these words requires.
For on the night he was betrayed

He bows slightly.
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT,
FOR THIS IS MY BODY,

He shows the consecrated host to the people, places it again on the paten, and genuflects in adoration.

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.
He shows the chalice to the people, places it on the corporal, and genuflects in adoration.
Then he says:
The mystery of faith.
And the people continue, acclaiming:
We proclaim your Death, O Lord,
and profess your Resurrection
until you come again.
Or:
When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup,
we proclaim your Death, O Lord,
until you come again.
Or:
Save us, Savior of the world,
for by your Cross and Resurrection
you have set us free.
Then the Priest, with hands extended, says:
Therefore, O Lord,
as we celebrate the memorial
of the saving Passion of your Son,
his wondrous Resurrection
and Ascension into heaven,
and as we look forward to his second coming,
we offer you in thanksgiving
this holy and living sacrifice.
Look, we pray,
upon the oblation of your Church
and, recognizing the sacrificial Victim

grant that we,
who are nourished by the Body and Blood of your Son and filled with his Holy Spirit,
may become one body, one spirit in Christ.
May he make of us
an eternal offering to you,
so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect,
especially with the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with blessed Joseph, her Spouse,
with your blessed Apostles and glorious Martyrs
(with Saint N.: the Saint of the day or Patron Saint)
and with all the Saints,
on whose constant intercession in your presence
we rely for unfailing help.
