+sofia alfaro I wouldn't use nail polish, I'm not sure if they have ingredients that can damage the dolls and it wont be durable overall. You can check for other acrylic paint gloss if you can't find Tamiya Color, they sell in artist supply stores, I've seen even in the craft sections in malls.

The tip is fast temperature change. After leaving the doll's hair (curled, if you want it that way) in hot water for about 10 seconds, dip the hair in cold water for about 5. Her hair should stay perfectly! Maybe experiment with the times you leave it in, bc every doll is different :)
When you have dolls but you can't draw/paint and you see people customise them them and you're like; whyyyy??? I can't draw...I wanna customise my doll ;~;
